Bij een bezoek aan Nederland biedt deze tour de perfecte introductie van alles wat Nederland te bieden heeft. In één dag verkent u iconische windmolens, ziet u hoe klompen worden gemaakt, geniet u van een Goudse kaasproeverij en leert u over de Zuidzeewinning. Bezoek het charmante vissersdorp Volendam, wandel door de haven en geniet van een mooie veerboottocht naar het schiereiland Marken, een plek waar de tijd lijkt stil te staan. Marken staat bekend om zijn traditionele houten huizen en biedt een kijkje in het oude Nederlandse leven, met zijn pittoreske straatjes.

9:00 uur Ophaalservice bij je hotel in Amsterdam. Een klein eindje rijden van de stad naar de Zaanse Schans
9.30 uur: We arriveren op de Zaanse Schans. Dit is een beschermd dorp met een verscheidenheid aan historische huizen, pakhuizen en werkende industriële windmolens. Het voelt alsof je terug in de tijd reist! Je ervaart hoe het leven was tussen de 18e en 19e eeuw en sluit je aan bij een klompenworkshop om te zien hoe klompen worden gemaakt, en sluit af met een bezoek aan een werkende windmolen.
Bij de kaasboerderij van Henry Willig zullen we een Goudse Kaasproeverij houden. Ze staan in de top 10 van de kaasmakers ter wereld. Als je een kaasliefhebber bent... dan ben je in de kaashemel! Ze hebben 30 smaken kaas om te proeven. 29 zijn gepasteuriseerd zodat je met de kaas over de hele wereld kunt reizen. Ze hebben ook opties om de kaas te verzenden. U hoeft zich dus geen zorgen te maken over het kiezen van slechts één favoriet.
12:30 We gaan naar het beroemde vissersdorp Volendam.
13.00 uur: Lunch in Volendam. Je kunt zelf kiezen waar je wilt lunchen. Als locals kennen wij veel leuke plekjes. Of het nu bij een plaatselijk visrestaurant is of gewoon een hapje. 14.00 uur: Een wandeling door Volendam, dat bekend staat als het populairste vissersdorp van Nederland. De charme van Volendam schuilt in de haven en de authentieke vissershuisjes. Het doolhof is het oudste deel van Volendam. Hier zien we kleine vissershuisjes en smalle straatjes. Het unieke aan het doolhof is dat de huizen zonder stratenpatroon zijn gebouwd. We maken een kleine wandeling door het doolhof en over de beroemde dijk van Volendam. 14.15: Een veerboottocht over het IJselmeer (voormalige Zuidzee) naar het schiereiland Marken, ooit een eiland in de Zuidzee.
14.45 uur: Aankomst op Marken. Marken is een klein dorpje met kleurrijke houten huizen, ophaalbruggen en een kleine haven op een voormalig eiland. We maken een kleine wandeling door het dorp.
15.00: Terug in je hotel in Amsterdam

Our day with Esther was the highlight of our trip. She did an amazing job of guiding us through culture, history, food, and so much more. Her personal connection to windmills, farming, and the people at each stop added such depth to the tour. She was such a pleasure to spend the day with. This is a must do if you’re coming to Amsterdam or the surrounding area. Worth every penny!

Perfect day out with Esther. We saw so many wonderful things and the information Esther shared along the was amazing. We walked along paths through villages that had we been in our own we would have never thought we could go down. Esther was not only our tour guide she warm, charming and also a great photographer. She captured images of our tour and shared them with us at the end of the tour. Could not recommend this tour enough. If you are in Amsterdam, do yourself a favour and book one of the tours.

We spent a lovely day with our tour guide, Esther. She is warm, friendly and knowledgeable. We had many questions and she had answers and stories that turned the areas into living history with charm and filled with lived experiences. Because it was a private tour we could go at our own pace and had the flexibility to modify our schedule when we found something that really fascinated us. Esther really is the BEST!! From the moment Ester greeted us in our hotel lobby we knew we were going to have a great day. She is warm, friendly and knowledgeable about Holland. We had the best time visiting the windmills, villages and cheese shops. We had many questions and Esther had answers for all of the. She shared stories that made the history come to life. Did some searching for a private tour to the windmills, wooden shoes and cheese countryside, not wanting the typical larger group type tour. So happy to have found the Windmill Girls! From the start communication was easy and responsive. We spent a wonderful day with Maaike today and met Esther as well while we were out exploring.
