Deze 3-4 uur durende tocht geeft u de kans om te verschijnen in het beroemdste bedevaartsoord van de Armeens-Apostolische Kerk - Klooster Khor Virap. Het staat voor de besneeuwde flanken van de berg Ararat en biedt een spectaculair uitzicht op de berg, het nationale symbool van Armenië. Pick-up en drop-off diensten zijn inbegrepen.

Het klooster Khor Virap staat voor de besneeuwde flanken van de berg Ararat en biedt een spectaculair uitzicht op de berg, het nationale symbool van Armenië. Het is waar Grigor Luisavorich (St. Gregory de Illuminator) 13 jaar gevangen zat voordat koning Trdat III van een ziekte genas. Dit veroorzaakte de adoptie van het christendom in Armenië in het jaar 301. In feite betekent de naam Khor Virap 'diepe put', genoemd naar de gevangenis waar St. Gregorius de Illuminator werd vastgehouden. Je kunt nog steeds via een smalle ladder de kuil afdalen om de atmosfeer te ervaren.

Vazgen was a great driver full of interesting facts. He was happy to stop for photos. The car was clean with AC and water. We had plenty of time to explore Khor Virap and see the views.

Our driver and the trip were great! The driver had such warming smile and was very customer service minded! He picked us up from the agreed spot and was waiting us there on time. He wanted to buy us some water and he waited for us the entire time we were seeing the sights. We also stopped to take photos a bit further from Khor Virap, he knew a perfect spot! Then he dropped us to the Verbissge market where me and my partner conveniently continued our day on our own :) Highly recommended if you want to see Khor Virap but dont have time for a whole day trip. The trip took us ~3h but it depends for example on how long you want to see the sights.

We did the tour in two hours. It should be promoted differently and given a 3 hour option for cheaper.
Dear Erick, thank you for your review. We highly appreciate it. We're glad you liked our product, but please note that the tour itself lasts 3-4 hours, 2 hours of which are spent on the road (go and back), so it is normal to spend there 1 or 2 hours. We hope to see you in Armenia again!
We had a tour with professional guide Arman. He was very attentive to our questions and could speak both English and Russian very well which was useful for our international company. Arman told us about the highlights of the Armenian history in a manner which was very easy to remember and to understand. It’s a real art to make history not boring and not too complicated. He has also told us about Armenian traditions, wine making, alphabet and meaning of words. The pick up was on time and just in front of our accommodation. We got a comfortable minivan with airco and a professional driver Artur. They even had a bottle of water for us. And the view on the Ararat mountain is just the best you can get. Thank you for this experience!

I had a spare morning in Yerevan and wanted to get out of the city, and this visit to Khor Virap was an excellent use of my time. The driver showed up a few minutes early in a very nice van and waited, and the drive took approximately 45 minutes each way. He offered to stop for photos or anything else along the way, and when we arrived at Khor Virap, he waited patiently for me as I explored. I have only good things to say about this company.
