Deze tour wordt geleid door een ervaren, toegewijde en gepassioneerde gids die deze steden als zijn broekzak kent. In het hart van de prachtige regio Algarve is deze reis een opmerkelijke verkenning van drie verschillende steden die geschiedenis, cultuur en natuurlijke schoonheid op een werkelijk unieke manier combineren. Deze tour neemt je mee voorbij de typische toeristische plekken en onthult de ware ziel van de Algarve. De gids streeft ernaar authentieke en meeslepende ervaringen te bieden waarmee je contact kunt maken met lokale gemeenschappen zoals de kopermeester en wevers van Loulé en de verkopers van Olhão. Elk van deze drie steden heeft zijn eigen karakter en cultureel erfgoed. In Loulé stap je terug in de tijd terwijl je door de betoverende geplaveide straatjes van de oude stad dwaalt. Olhão daarentegen is een vissersdorp met een uniek erfgoed, weerspiegeld in de architectuur en culinaire tradities. Faro, de hoofdstad van de Algarve, biedt een mix van historische charme en hedendaagse levendigheid.

Het pittoreske stadje Loulé, gelegen in het hart van de Algarve, straalt een charme uit die de essentie van het platteland van de Algarve weergeeft. We bezoeken de gemeentelijke markt van Loulé, een van de beste voorbeelden van de Arabische revivalistische stijl. De straten van de oude binnenstad van Loulé met zijn traditionele huizen en waar je de kopermeester zijn traditionele cataplana en andere items zult zien werken, terwijl de lokale dames dwergpalm weven bladeren van bomen, het naaien en verbinden van elke tak, waardoor zoveel verschillende voorwerpen ontstaan: tassen, reiswiegjes, manden en meer traditionele of innovatieve voorwerpen. - De geplaveide traditionele winkelstraat
De unieke architectuur van Olhão creëert een bijzonder stedelijk panorama. Een van de meest iconische kenmerken van Olhão is het netwerk van huizen in kubistische stijl. Deze kubistische bouwwerken tonen de artistieke geest en unieke benadering van architectuur van de stad. De eerste stop op onze tour is de gemeentelijke markt. Dit gebouw aan de waterkant valt op tussen de witte huizen met zijn rode bakstenen muren en groene koepels. Er zijn twee secties: een met fruit en groenten en lokale droge producten, en een andere die uitsluitend gewijd is aan vis en zeevruchten, zoals mosselen, mosselen en oesters. We lopen naar het stadscentrum langs de traditionele straten waar u traditionele Portugese gebouwen vindt met hun traditionele tegels en ijzeren balkons en ook de kubistische huizen.

Onze tour neemt je mee op een boeiende reis door deze betoverende stad, bekend om zijn geschiedenis, prachtige landschappen en levendige cultuur. Onze eerste stop is in het hart van Faro, de oude binnenstad. We bezoeken de kathedraal van Faro, een gotische religieuze structuur die een blik op het verleden en een panoramisch uitzicht over de stad biedt vanaf het dakterras van de klokkentoren. Omdat Faro ook de thuisbasis is van het prachtige natuurpark Ria Formosa, een beschermd gebied met diverse ecosystemen, kwelders en een overvloed aan vogelsoorten, kunnen we vanaf de top van de kathedraal dat prachtige uitzicht bewonderen. Onze tour brengt ons vervolgens naar Arco da Vila, een van de oude stadsingangen. Tijdens ons bezoek aan Faro heeft u de mogelijkheid om door de traditionele winkelstraten te lopen en door de geplaveide straten te slenteren.

My husband and I spent 4 wonderful days with Johnny. He arrived every morning at our hotel on time and always happy. He made sure we saw all the most important places but also allowed for us to customize our daily tours. As a local and having grown up in the Algarves,, Johnny's history is invaluable. What a fabulous day Johnny lined for us! We chose a private tour due to our limited time in the Algarve region. We rate tours based on 1) communication, 2) itinerary, 3) information, 4) organization and 5) pricing. The communication was great. We were notified and reminded of the pick up time. Johnny asked what we wanted to do and see. He interjected several stops that proved to be interesting, so our itinerary included a visit to local artisans, including a coppersmith and a basket weaver. We visited the local markets in Loulé and in Olhão. The churches and cathedrals we visited were breathtaking! And all that time Johnny was explaining the history of, the customs, the traditions of each place. The pricing was agreed upon up front. At the end of the day, we felt we certainly got our money’s worth. To have a tour guide put so much enthusiasm and pride in the Algarve and Portugal made this tour very special and meaningful. Johnny organized a 23 person all day tour that took us to Loule , Tavira , the Quinta da Tor winery and a few other stops. It was very good value for our money , a good time was had by all and Johnny and his cohort Nelson are both affable and knowledgeable guides. We also had used Johnny’s tours to arrange transport for the majority of our group from Lisbon to the Rocha Brava resort and a smaller group transport from The resort to Seville, Spain I would highly recommend this company for any trips you’re considering
