Tobia was a wonderful guide and very friendly. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Venice and the islands of Murano and Burano. I highly recommend doing a private tour to these two places.
Our guide was Emma, a native of Venice, and she was wonderful. She knew the history of the city, was fluent in English (and a number of other languages), was friendly, polite, solicitous and funny! As seniors, we appreciated her youthful enthusiasm, and were grateful for her looking out for us as we boarded and got off water taxis. The tours of Murano and Burano Islands were spectacular. I highly recommend Emma as one of the best guides we’ve had on our many vacations.
Be careful with this operator. They offered private transportation, but it turned out to be shared. They offered guidance in Spanish, but he barely managed a few words and his English was not much better. They offered to walk and meet Murano, but really they just keep you in a huge selling room trying to sell you pieces of glass. The operator is not responsible for its false advertising and Viator does not bother demanding, all very disappointing.
Emma did a great job managing the trip. She is friendly and knowledgeable. Her goal is to inform you about the culture in a friendly manner. We really enjoyable way. Also this was far less expensive than other comparable trips.
Run - don’t walk - away from this tour. This trip to Murano is like a timeshare sales pitch. You will be taken to a glass company’s private dock, shown two minutes of glasswork, and then get locked in their sales showroom for an hour. The glass company is paying the tour company to bring you to Murano for the sales pitch. You don’t see any real glasswork and the pieces they try to sell you are grossly overpriced. Take a private boat to Murano and then get a guide to take you to multiple glass factories with no obligation to be held captive for their sales staff.
Good evening, We are sorry that you did not enjoy the tour. The tour includes a visit to Murano, including a visit to a glass factory, and a visit to Burano, including a visit to a historic shop where they still make lace by hand. In Murano, after the demonstration, the factory gives you time to visit the rooms, but this is not compulsory. As far as prices are concerned, you need to be very careful, as ORIGINAL MURANO pieces are handmade and therefore expensive. You pay for quality. If you want to buy glassware made in China or Taiwan, which costs much less, you are free to do so. With us, there is no obligation to purchase.
Our tour guide, Alessia, went above and beyond informing our family about the history of Venice, Murano, and Burano. She enhanced our experience and our family enjoyed the private tour of both cities. The tour was lovely for both adults and children in our group. I’d recommend to others!
Let me firstly say that Tobia was an excellent guide and was extremely passionate about Venice & it's history. The tour started late, as they had the hotel pick-up wrong even though the correct hotel showed on the booking & I checked with them twice to ensure they had the hotel change. They assured me pick-up would be at the hotel it was not we had to rush to the St Peter's square taxi area to board the boat. The tour of Munaro was just the glass factory & sales area. There was no street walk & we never saw the San Donato church we pulled up directly at the glass factory boat ramp. (The factory was interesting & the Venetian glass amazing but extremely expensive). On to Bunaro, what a gorgeous quaint island with its own unique style. The lace shop was lovely however, after a 5min talk demonstrations the process it was off to the sales area. (The girls were very pushing trying to make a sale & although beautiful the items were extremely expensive for something you probably would only use once a year at best) We were walked from one end of town to the other there was never any free time for browsing, a spritz, coffee or a toilet break and as for the Buranelli biscuits never saw one to even look at don't even know about their history. The entire 4hrs was extremely rushed and was not as per the tour description & we lost 15mins because of their hotel error. A bit disappointing but we did enjoy what we saw & Tobia was an lovely guide with knowledge of the things we did see & were shown. It was ashamed we didn't see or do the full description.
What an amazing experience! Our tour guide Emma was so knowledgeable and lined up the best schedule for our needs.
Our tour guide Emma was wonderful and very knowledgeable. The glass factory was very interesting and beautiful to see. We were then free to walk around Burano a lovely little island. Would highly recommend.
Tobias was absolutely terrific. He was knowledgeable and informative, and a pleasure to have as our tour guide. Both Murano and Burano were beautiful and I highly recommend this tour.
