Privétour met gids in Machu Picchu

I have been a big fan of this mystical place and the more I checked photos the more I wanted to be there. This year I finally went and it was even more beautiful than I had imagined. There is an aura around this place that cannot be described!!

Awesome! Amazing engineering!

My wife and I used Inca Expert Travel for our trip to Peru this past July. They took care of all logistics flawlessly for us. They arranged an excellent private guide for us in Machu Picchu as well as in the Sacred Valley, Cusco and Lima. Our visit to MP was everything that we expected it to be. I was a little surprised with the small unloading area at the park entrance at the top of the mountain. We had tickets for the morning tour where you get the postcard view and the afternoon ticket where we walked through the complex. Growing up, there were two ancient wonders that I always wanted to see, the Egyptian Pyramids and Machu Picchu. I got to see the Pyramids a few years ago and now I’ve seen MP. It was truly the trip of a lifetime.

Getting to Machu Picchu is a saga: you fly to Lima and get a connection to Cuzco. There we slept, we checked out but we left our larger bags at the hotel and according to the agency's guidance we only took 1 backpack with 1 change of clothes. We then took a van for a full day tour in the Sacred Valley of the Incas visiting cities such as Pisac and Ollantaythambo where around 16:00 we took a train sa PeruRail to Aguas Calientes, a journey of 1h and a half. There we arrived at 18h, slept in a local hotel and the next day we went up to Machu Picchu (bus of 22 minutes) where the guided tour lasts 2:30h. I strongly recommend hiring a local guide otherwise it is impossible to understand the buildings, history and magic of the place. On the way back, we took the bus again to Aguas Calientes where we took a train back to Cuzco (3:40h drive). This tour exceeded all expectations!

A trip of a life time with a fabulous guide

Every thing about the trip was wonderful and they made all the details easy. Saul Palma was the the perfect guide and his knowledge was amazing. I would ask for him if I went back again.

Before the entrance there is a restaurant. Bathroom costs 2 soils and was clean. Climb/descend with wooden stairs or stones. Panoramic view. Small circuit. With lamas walking.

The archaeological park is admirable for its constructions and the carving of the rocks.

Fantastic, a place with incredible energy! Lots of history, beauty and culture

My husband and I traveled to South American in May 2024. We booked our entire trip to (with the exceptions of flights which we booked on our own) to Ecuador and Peru (including Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu) with Maria - Columbus Travel, Quito, Ecuador. The service was outstanding and Machu Picchu is amazing. My husband took a further day hike to Huayna Picchu with out guide - no thank you but he loved it!
