Uw avontuur begint bij het natuurreservaat Pan DE Azúcar Wildlife, waar u de inheemse flora en fauna leert kennen. Als u avontuurlijk bent ingesteld, klimt u naar de top van de 385 meter hoge heuvel voor een geweldig panoramisch uitzicht. Breng vervolgens een bezoek aan het historische kasteel van Francisco Piria, waar het verleden en het heden zich vermengen op het betoverende terrein. Ervaar Piriápolis terwijl u langs de levendige promena DE wandelt en bewonder vervolgens het stierenbeeld bij Cerro del Toro en de elegante Fuente de Venus. Onze eerste stop brengt ons naar het natuurreservaat Cerro Pan de Azúcar, een bijzondere plek waar u de inheemse flora en fauna van Uruguay kunt verkennen. Dit reservaat ligt net buiten Piriápolis en is de thuisbasis van een natuurreservaat waar u de kans krijgt om inheemse soorten in hun natuurlijke omgeving te zien, zoals capibara's, roofvogels, de altijd nieuwsgierige en speelse neusberen die vrij rondlopen in het park en last but not least de machtige jaguar. Onze reis gaat verder met een bezoek aan het betoverende Castillo de Piria, de voormalige residentie van Francisco Piria, de visionaire oprichter van Piriápolis. Dit prachtig gerestaureerde kasteel, omgeven door pittoreske tuinen, biedt een kijkje in de geschiedenis van Uruguay en het excentrieke leven van Piria. Onze volgende stop is de Paseo La Pasiva, een seizoensmarkt die lokale handgemaakte ambachten en ambachtelijke producten tentoonstelt. Deze charmante markt is de perfecte plek om unieke, lokaal vervaardigde items te ontdekken en de creativiteit van de ambachtslieden uit de regio te ontdekken. Of u nu op zoek bent naar een speciaal souvenir of gewoon wilt genieten van de levendige sfeer, de markt biedt een heerlijk kijkje in de culturele scene van Piriápolis.
De Cerro del Toro staat prominent met een opvallend bronzen stierenbeeld met water dat door zijn mond stroomt. We sluiten onze tour af bij Cerro San Antonio, waar je wordt getrakteerd op een adembenemend panoramisch uitzicht en een prachtige zonsondergang over Piriápolis. Op de top kunt u genieten van een maaltijd of koffie in het gezellige restaurant, charmante souvenirwinkels verkennen en de serene kleine kapel bezoeken. Fantastic day! This was a relaxing way to mix things up on our trip and Paola kept us entertained
The experience was wonderful: a perfect blend of nature and culture. You can see that the boys know about birds and animals so it was a pleasure to visit the reserve with them: we identified birds and plants. In Piriapolis, we went to eat at a restaurant with a great view of the city and exquisite food! This city is beautiful and kind of a turn of the past. We traveled in a very comfortable car. In short, a very good alternative to know more about this beautiful country.
This was a wonderful tour! Paola & Fabio were great guides. Very knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. We explored old castles and the ruins of an old church. We had lunch on top of a hill with a panoramic view of this city!

Each step of the way we were able to connect the past and present with a tour of lovely Piriopolis. From the fascinating story of the city’s inception by the industrious alchemist-Francisco Piria to strolling the Rambla de los Argentinos breathing in the sea air and viewing a sea elephant pup to Cerro San Antonio for spectacular views of the picturesque shoreline framed by an azure sky the day was an expertly guided and refreshing immersion into the depth of Uruguay’s diversity. Fabio & Paola are engaging with their deep love for nature and passion for sharing their delight of the native flora and fauna. We spent time at Reserva de Flora y Fauna del Pan de Azúcar learning of the conservation efforts of Uruguayan wildlife. We were able to see the feeding of capybaras and puma- saw many birds of prey, iguana like reptiles, fox, crocodiles, and many more. It was a wonderful way to understand more of the natural inhabitants of the country. Paola & Fabio are flexible and willingly took requests while being eager participants in exploring an abandoned church I was curious to explore. They were courteous each step of the way asking if our needs were met or if we’d like alone time for lunch. We were more than happy to dine together as they are engaging conversationalist. They were conscientious to make our day what we desired while willingly snapping photos & providing links for further exploring. Overall I chose this private tour because I wanted more than the standard offering of tours. I wanted to know more about the origins, history, passion, and heart of this beautiful country. Fabio & Paola provided that and more. I cannot highly recommend this tour enough. It is my goal when I travel to be enriched, this was the perfect day- filling my soul and my memory with joy. We had a great time with Paola! Lots of Uraguayan wildlife, along with some great views and local historical points of interest. Paola was very accomodating to our interests but also careful to make sure we were back to our cruise ship in time! The snacks were also great 😀.

Great tour to explore Uruguay's nature and animals. Paola, the tour guide was very friendly, informative &amazing. She provided a lot of knowledge about the country's history, food, culture & tradition. The tour ended up with beautiful views of the beach from top of the mountain. She even showed the independence plaza which was not in the itenary. Food provided was excellent. Highly recommend this tour for nature / animal lovers.

I had a great experience on this tour. Our guide Paola shared the most relevant details of Piriapolis history, and showed flexibility taking our preferences into consideration. By far, our favorite part of the day was the natural reserve in the Pan de Azucar hill - It is incredible. For us, as a family of 4 including small children, it was a really enjoyable activity to do together. We absolutely adored the coaties running around freely, looking for food; and the lazy capibaras taking a sun bath in their natural habitat. A clear example of the effort that Uruguay puts in keeping their biodiversity in a well-preserved area, while fostering a family-friendly environment. 100% recommend!
