Geniet van je dag met het proeven van wijn en beroemde portwijn door de regio. Je moet komen waar de Port wordt geboren en gemaakt! Van de grond tot de wijnstok, de schalieterrassen tot de zonne-expositie, ent de wijnstokken op druivensoort, "lagar" op het vat, van de flessen naar de tafel, van de smaak in je tong naar je hersenen en naar je ziel. In de Douro-vallei bezoekt u verbazingwekkende wijndorpen bevroren in de tijd waar de portwijncultuur dominant is in de straten, in de huizen, in het landschap en bij de mensen, ze zullen u het verschil leren van een Tawny tot een Ruby, droog Witte port naar een zoete witte port, Late Bottle Vintage naar een Vintage en ook de beroemde Single Harvest portwijnen, denk je dat je het aankan!!! U overlegt met wijn- en portwijnproducenten en zij zullen hun kennis met u delen door middel van een glas portwijn, vanaf dit moment ziet u wijn vanuit een ander oogpunt, na een privéproeverij van 15 Douro Valley Wines.

- In Pinhão, het hart van de Douro-vallei, zullen we een privéproeverij maken met een wijnexpert uit de Douro-vallei, u zult privé proeven, olijfolie, wijn en portwijn, alles uit de Douro-vallei met wat lokale kaas en ham. De wijnproeverij of het drinken is ongeveer 18 Douro Valley-wijnen, goed voor een ochtendvoorgerecht. - We gaan naar het meest geweldige uitkijkpunt naar de Douro-vallei - Lunch in een lokale taverne met alleen lokale gerechten, wijn of bier - Ik rijd terug naar huis :)

My wife and I wanted a private tour of the Douro wine region. We were so fortunate to find Ricardo as our guide and driver. He picked us up at the train station in Porto and took us to our Airbnb but not before a lunch stop at Gazela for the local hot dogs and beer. The next day we had an insider tour of the Douro Valley, tastings at boutique wineries and culminating in a private lunch in a beautiful home with breathtaking views of the Valley. We tasted 9 Douro Valley wines over about 3 hours and heard the backstory on them all. He even picked us up at 4am on Saturday to catch our flight to Paris. What service! Ricardo was born in Porto and lived in Prosvendre (wine village in the Douro) for 7 years. You will get the ultimate insider experience with Ricardo. Highly, highly recommended. He created a never-to-be-forgotten experience for us in Porto and the Douro Valley.

Ricardo is as just amazing. From early communications regarding our preferences to recommendations for our next city’s exploration, he was the best. Ricardo was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He shared much valuable historical information and was patient with questions. He was flexible with plans and really just so much fun to be with. He planned a wonderful adventure for us in the Douro Valley after our vacation plans had unexpectedly changed without hesitation. We toured Porto and had a wonderful lunch. We highly recommend him for any type of tour and cannot wait to tour with him again when we visit Portugal!

Don’t hesitate-book the tour! Ricardo was an exceptional tour guide and our day was the highlight of our trip. He thought of everything-offered breakfast and coffee, delivered wine to our room, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the day learning about the Douro Valley. Lunch was delicious and the wine selection was fantastic. Highly recommend!!

Our day with Ricardo was truly unforgettable – one of the highlights of our entire trip to Portugal! Ricardo is not just a guide; he's a passionate storyteller who brought the history of the Douro Valley alive for us with incredible detail and enthusiasm. His knowledge of the area is outstanding, and he made every stop along the way meaningful and memorable. Ricardo took us to a charming local spot for a short break where we got a taste of the Douro’s unique flavors and local traditions. But the best part was lunch at his friend’s home – a warm and welcoming setting where we enjoyed an incredible meal paired with exceptional wines from the region. This was such a special, authentic experience, something we would have never found on our own. OMG Ricardo is the bomb! He was so descriptive in telling us all about the Douro Valley and the amazing olive trees and history of the vineyards. We had a traditional Portuguese meal at a charming home and enjoyed multiple wine tastings. The trip was phenomenal and Ricardo was so kind and helpful in giving us tips of other things to do while in Portugal. Ricardo is a gem and you won’t be disappointed if you book with him.

A fabulous experience exploring the Duoro Valley with Ricardo. From the moment we arrived in Porto he had arranged for a lovely welcome basket to be delivered to our room. (And considered our dietary restrictions!) Through to the best coffee we had on our trip at a local Portuguese bakery! That was just the beginning…the wine tasting, beautiful lunch, meeting the local fire fighters to drinks in the square! Finishing off with a beautiful glass of bubbles overlooking the best view! Thanks Ricardo for making our trip to the Duoro! Would definitely recommend this experience.
