Sintra, de hoofdstad van de romantiek, is een van de meest pittoreske en mooie dorpen van Portugal. De monumenten hebben een grootse architectuur vol verhalen en ontrafelende mysteries. Tuinen, eeuwenoude bomen en oude paleizen in een werkelijk unieke omgeving wachten op u. In deze Sintra-tour kunt u ook het meest westelijke punt van Europa bezoeken, de duinen van Gincho en het mysterieuze Sintra-gebergte. Dit is een must-do site in Portugal! Bezoek aan de prachtige en historische stad Sintra, een UNESCO-werelderfgoed. Ontdek de pittoreske straatjes, het Sintra Nationaal Paleis, de fonteinen, de kerken, kapellen en heiligdommen.
Vervolgens maken we een heerlijke pitstop bij een charmante wijnmakerij in Sintra, waar we u uitnodigen om te genieten van de absoluut beste wijnen die de regio te bieden heeft.
De volgende stop is het Pena-paleis, waar u zowel binnen als buiten een mix van architecturale stijlen kunt bewonderen. Het Pena-paleis is een van de beste voorbeelden van romantiek uit de 19e eeuw. Zorg ervoor dat u uw camera bij de hand hebt om het fantastische landschap rondom het paleis vast te leggen.
Ontdek vervolgens het meest westelijke punt van continentaal Europa. Geniet vanaf de kliffen van het fantastische uitzicht op de stranden en de zee. Vanaf de weg in de buurt van de kust kunt u staren naar de stranden en de prachtige steden Estoril en Cascais.
Klim naar het Moorse kasteel waar de bouw van de eerste delen van de muur dateert uit de 8e en 9e eeuw. Vanaf het kasteel kunt u genieten van een fantastisch uitzicht over de hele regio. Het kan niet worden gemist!
Op de terugweg hebben we de kans om te genieten van dit unieke strand met zijn beroemde duinen. Een echt toevluchtsoord voor surfen, windsurfen en kitesurfen.
En natuurlijk kunnen we niet vertrekken zonder het charmante stadje Cascais te bezoeken. Dit voormalige vissersdorp was vroeger een koninklijk uitje. Tegenwoordig is het nog steeds een van de meest aantrekkelijke bestemmingen voor de Portugese en buitenlandse elite dankzij alles wat het te bieden heeft: boetieks, restaurants, hotels, stranden en nog veel meer.

- Bescherming: In onze voertuigen zijn alcoholgel en gezichtsmaskers altijd gratis beschikbaar als klanten dat nodig hebben. De bestuurder zal het gebruik van een masker en handreiniging met verplichte alcoholgel adviseren na alle stops, voordat hij opnieuw het voertuig betreedt.

We had such an amazing tour with our guide Jose. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. If you want to truly experience Sintra with all of its authenticity and hidden gems look no further, you will not be disappointed!!! 10 out of 10!
Our tour guide Jose Ribeiro from “Lisbon on wheels tours” was outstanding. My wife and I have taken many private tours prior to meeting Jose for our Sinatra, Cascais & Cabo da Rico tour. It was an all day private tour. He had so much knowledge of the areas, shops and culture of the areas that we were touring today. Jose always took the time to know about us and maybe the areas that we would like to visit best. He surprised us with some additional stops he felt we would’ve liked and he was correct. We had an exceptional time and all went so well. One of the best part of our tour was Jose himself. He was just a nice person to be around. We highly recommend his services and the excursion we had taken.
Jose’ was an exceptional guide who was very enjoyable to be with and efficient with time so that we could get the most out of each location on the tour. His knowledge and passion for history and culture kept us engaged the whole time. He was one of the best tour guides we have ever had in all of our travels, and would highly recommend him.
Jose was fantastic! He was accommodating from the start, taking us to a convenience store before the tour started when our luggage was lost by the airline. He was entertaining throughout the tour, extremely knowledgeable on every stop, and genuinely passionate about sharing his knowledge and experiences with us. He treated us like friends and tailored the day to us. Fantastic conversations, information, and bonding — and of course great sights in Sintra, Cascais and more!
This tour was without a doubt the best thing we did in Portugal! Our tour guide, José, was incredible and made the day so special and memorable. Not only did we learn so much about the history at each stop but be he really tailored the flow of the day to suit our interests which added another level to the experience. He was so genuine and such fun to hang out with all day so it felt like hanging out with a friend instead of being guided by a stiff tour guide speaking from a script. This was our favorite day of the our trip! The company was also very easy to work with so I was able to customize the pickup and drop off points along with the specific sites I wanted to see which was very convenient to me!
Our trip w Jose was terrific! He was so knowledgeable about the region, its history and places we visited. He provided us also with some unique experiences that were most personal - a wine tasting at a local cooperative, a visit to a unique vineyard and a wonderful lunch experience on the beach. Above all, he was extremely congenial and took great interest in us. The connection w Jose was immediate and one day we hope to travel with him again.
We had the most amazing day with our guide, Jose, yesterday! He could not have been kinder or more patient! We first when to Pena Palace. He had already purchased our timed tickets and transfer shuttle. The palace was incredible and the in depth history José shared made it even more meaningful! That man knows his history! He then took us to a winery - the only where the grapes are grown in the sand. Delicious! Then on to a local restaurant where we got to chose our own fish. Delicious! Then a lovely drive to the the western most point of europes mainland. On to the sweet little town of Sintra where Jose took us to his favorite bakery for amazing treats! Yum! Jose is the best! Grab him if you can!
What an excellent tour this was! Jose was the best guide my family and I could have been gifted with. His knowledge and professionalism was unmatched, and his kindness is second to none. Our "driver" Jose was incredible. He kept referring to himself as nothing more than our driver with jokes, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. Jose took us around Lisbon and adjacent areas, showed us from a locals perspective the best parts of Lisbon, and even took us to some hidden gems! We had to modify our trip due to conflicts, and Jose took his subject matter expert knowledge and without hesitation modified the trip to accommodate our change in schedule. 10/10 would recommend Lisbon on Wheels, and specifically Jose!
Wow! Definitely 5/5! We had a fantastic day with Lisbon on Wheels. Our guide, Jose, was truly excellent. He was attentive, informative, humorous and relaxed. He even managed to keep our 14 and 17 year olds engaged all day. We did a trip to the palace, Sintra, wine tasting in Colares, Cabo da Roca and finally Cascais. There were some additional stops off the tourist tracks too, which felt very special. We thoroughly enjoyed our day. Lunch was amazing, especially if you enjoy seafood. Jose even extended the day by a couple of hours, which he discussed and agreed with us. Highly recommend.
