De beroemde oude stad. U kunt ervoor kiezen om te stoppen om te winkelen, souvenirs te kopen of een wandeling te maken in een van de beroemde gebieden: -Plaka gebied oude stad -Monastiraki gebied -Ermou street winkelcentrum -Varvakeios centrale voedselmarkt
Vervolgens rijden we 10 km ten zuiden van het centrum van Athene naar de havenstad Piraeus, de grootste haven in de Middellandse Zee, het knooppunt van het Egeïsche veerbootnetwerk, het centrum van de Griekse maritieme handel en de basis voor zijn grote koopvaardijvloot. Naast de scheepvaartkantoren zijn banken en openbare gebouwen een wirwar van voetgangersgebieden, winkelstraten en nogal grungy gebieden. De meest aantrekkelijke wijken van de stad Piraeus zijn de kleine haven Mikrolimano, Marina Zeas / Pasalimani, het kustgebied van Peiraiki en de heuvel Kastella.

It was an okay tour. Athens is covered in graffiti and traffic getting to the Acropolis, Parthenon area takes up most of your time. It is quite a few steps to the lower Acropolis and Parthenon viewing area and rocky viewing area overlooking the city. if you want to see Acropolis up close you have to buy tickets and take more steps way up to see them both. We were dropped off in Monastriki shopping area for an hour. Same stuff in every shop. Had a bit of a driving tour around Piraeus port where all the yachts are. We did stop at the university and old library which are stunning buildings.
I arranged a private tour of Athens for my cruise group and it was amazing! Fotis and his driver did an excellent job taking us to the highlights of Athens! We saw the Acropolis (we did not want to go inside). We saw an olympic stadium. We saw the guards watching over the tomb of the unknown soldier (we missed the changing of the guards). We had free time in which to eat and shop. I had a special request to stop at McDonald's for fried apple pies and Fotis delivered. It was a wonderful 5 hours - we thoroughly enjoyed it!

Avoid this hop on hop off bus at all cost. They make you get off the bus and do not take you back to the cruise port. They take you around the city and don’t follow the route, then they take you to the acropolis way. You have to stand on a very long line for over an hour to wait for the bus to take you back to the cruise port. The buses should go directly to the cruise port. We should not have to get on and off and wait for over an hour.
Terrible experience!! It’s cheap but it’s not worth it …. Just a few bus and the tour to the piraeus and glyfada it’s not interesting

Went on a private tour a family of four around Athens with Carlos, we were out for 5 hours had amazing time. Carlos was really friendly and was very knowledgeable about Athens. Great really would recommend.
