Een fort uit de 18e eeuw werd in de Tweede Wereldoorlog omgetoverd tot een Joods getto en een politieke gevangenis van de nazi's. Ervaar het en leer meer over een triest waargebeurd deel van de Europese geschiedenis dat de hele wereld heeft beïnvloed. Terezin concentratiekamp ligt strategisch dicht bij Praag (45-60 min rijden). Je leert de geschiedenis van de Tweede Wereldoorlog - het verschil tussen concentratie- en vernietigingskamp, psychologie van nazipropaganda die de waarheid verbergt voor de rest van de wereld, politieke gevangenis van de Gestapo, individuele persoonlijke verhalen, leven en cultuur in het Joodse getto. De stad is verdeeld in twee delen: de voormalige politieke gevangenis van de Gestapo (later communistische gevangenis) en het Joodse getto gepresenteerd als "een stad gegeven aan Joden van Adolf Hitler voor de oorlogstijd". U ziet de voormalige Gestapo gevangenis, het Joods Museum van het Getto, een Joodse slaapzaal, de Maagdenburg Barakken (Muzeum van cultuur in het getto) en nog veel meer. Daarna geniet je van een Tsjechische lunch in een lokale brouwerij (inbegrepen).

Uw privégids en chauffeur halen u op bij uw Praagse plaats en na 45-60 minuten comfortabel rijden bereikt u concentratiekamp Terezin. Het ligt strategisch dicht bij Praag. Allereerst wordt u door het Terezinse fort geleid, dat een politieke gevangenis van de gestapo was (later een communistische gevangenis) - de gevangeniscellen, douches en een wandeling door de tunnels van het fort. Bekijk de propagandafilm over "Joods paradijs" - neppresentatie door nazi's in vergelijking met de wrede werkelijkheid in het kamp.
Na bezoek aan Museum van voormalig Joods getto (materialen, video's van individuele verhalen van mensen die in het getto wonen) wordt u door het Joodse getto geleid om meer van het leven in het getto te ervaren. Let op : crematorium, columbarium & ceremoniële zalen zijn gesloten op zaterdag.
Cultuur in concentratiekamp maakt het voormalige getto van Terezin plaats van scherpe contrasten. In deze kazerne (voormalige zetel van het Joods bestuur) leer je over verschillende gebieden van de cultuur (Muziek, Grafiek, Literatuur, Theater), ontmoet je individuele auteurs en zie je een model van slaapzalen. Bij interesse (optioneel) bezoeken we crematorium, columbarium (voormalige opslag van as), lijkenhuis en ceremoniële zalen (deze zijn allemaal gesloten op zaterdag). Na afloop geniet je van een heerlijke Tsjechische lunch in een lokale brouwerij (inbegrepen).

I can't say enough wonderful things about this tour. Michal was an absolute delight We were traveling with 80 year old parents with limited mobility and Michal was amazing about making sure they enjoyed the tour as much as we did. Tour is completely private which is nice as he catered the tour to our wants. He is so knowledgeable of Terezin and WWII. He took us to a local town for lunch where we enjoyed a traditional Czeck lunch, which was delicious. If you are wanting to visit the Terezin memorial, don't hesitate to book this tour. It is nice to see the memorial in a more intimate way versus a 40 person bus tour with a speaker to your ear. It was the best tour we did in our 2 week trip in Europe.
It was a great experience and we learnt a lot about Terezin and its history, our tour guide Michal was excellent and he explained us every thing what we needed to know about the place and showed us the most important parts of Terezin
This was an amazing tour! It lived up to all our expectations. Michal was an excellent tour guide and was able to get into much detail about the daily lives of those who suffered this terrible nightmare. I highly recommend Michael for any future tours. You will not be disappointed.
Michal guided us (a German and a Frenchwoman) through Theresienstadt. He empathically imparted his vast historical and cultural knowledge to us and sensitively accompanied us on this historically difficult walk. This was by far (!!) the best private tour we ever had. Also: it couldn't be easier, hotel pickup, comfortable, well-kept, large car, drinks on board and a nice lunch.

Michael was amazing! So personable and genuine, it was like taking a day trip with a friend. We all loved him! He is laid back and let's you govern the day you want. We wanted to sleep in some so we went later in the day. Although the tour is a solemn one, we all really enjoyed it! He is very knowledgeable about the subject, picked a wonderful place for lunch, and the transportation there was very comfy. THANKS MICHAEL!!
I had assumed that I would be on a bus with 20 people. Instead it turned out to be a private tour for an extremely reasonable price. Michal was very knowledgeable, had grown up locally, and provided me with a glimpse into Czech life on the way to Terezin. Once we got there, he provided an exceptional tour in the areas that was allowed, and then found me a private tour guide in the areas that were restricted. He tailored the tour to my knowledge and interests. After, he took me to a nearby town for an Czech lunch fit for local culture. All in all this was one of the best tours I have had.
