Tijdens deze 10-uur durende tour bezoekt u het honingkleurige fort Jaisalmer dat uit het vlakke droge woestijnzand tevoorschijn komt en Salim Singh-Ki-Haveli & Patwon-Ki-Haveli - enkele van de prachtige herenhuizen met steenhouwwerk en traliewerk met adembenemende ingewikkeldheid. Bezoek ook haveli's (herenhuizen) die werden gebouwd door de rijke Jain-kooplieden. Geniet van een lunchbuffet en sluit de dag af op de kameelrug op de pittoreske zandduinen.

Vroeg in de ochtend om 9.00 uur bezoekt u het historische, goed bewaard gebleven fort Jaisalmer en ontdekt u het doolhof van smalle straatjes in dit openluchtmuseum van een stad met zijn sierlijk versierde haveli's van gele zandsteen. De haveli's werden gebouwd door rijke kooplieden in een tijd dat de stad een belangrijke halte was op de karavaanroutes vanuit het Midden-Oosten. Salim Singh-Ki-Haveli en Patwon-Ki-Haveli zijn twee van deze ingewikkelde herenhuizen met stenen houtsnijwerk en traliewerk. Na dit bezoek ga je naar Gadisar Lake en neem je een pauze voor de lunch in een geweldig lokaal restaurant. In de avond net voor zonsondergang reis je naar Sam Sand Dunes - 45 km (28mi) om de totale zandige bushloze woestijn te zien. Op deze glorieuze uitgestrekte vegende zandduinen geniet je van een ritje op een kameel en kun je je favoriete foto maken met een eenzame kameel op een woestijnpad met de ondergaande zon op de achtergrond. Na een gedenkwaardige dag gaat u terug naar uw hotel in Jaisalmer.

Rachana Heritage Hotel was excellent and their Safron Restaurant was excellent in food variety, quality and service. It was the best we have had on our trip. Jaisalmer is very laid back compared to Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. I'm so glad we visited. Each place is completely different. Remember guides and drivers are not representing you when they take you to shops and restaurants. Shopkeepers tell you everything is fixed price which is never true. Your guide will keep quiet because he will get a 40 to 50 % cut! So bargain hard. I do feel violated due to falling for this. It's difficult to believe anything you are told. The desert resort called Exotic Luxury Camp had excellent food, good inclusive entertainment and nice rooms with electric, hot water and very comfortable beds. The camel ride to the sand dunes was fun, but 2 are on each camel.

Great tour of Jaisalmer & desert camp with guide Bhupendra Singh & driver Lilu Singh. We really enjoyed our tour of the fort in town and the camel ride to the dunes in the desert. The accommodations and food at the Exotic Desert Camp were excellent.

Had a great time in Jaisalmer thanks to Nikita Holiday Agra. We had a great tour of the fort (with lots of history knowledge being shared) and a good buffet lunch. After some downtime, we rode out into the sand dunes for a camel ride. Highly suggest doing this tour, especially if you're only here a short time!

<p>We had a fabulous tour with Mr Ghanshyam. He was very knowledgeable and had interesting local insights to the city and made the tour very entertaining. His sense of humor and warmth added that extra bit to make the experience exceptional. Going with a local, we were introduced to the little secrets of the city - fantastic makhani, a fabulous silver shop tucked away in a non-descript alley with some of the finest handwork and exquisite pieces of jewellery, a fantastic antique store which was a museum by itself, textiles from a lovely shop inside a massive haveli which we would never have found out walking down the lane .... fabulous walks down narrow lanes opening into squares with no prior indications somewhat like one would find in Europe in cities like Venice, a walk through the narrow lanes inside the fort giving a great view into life in the fort. He also took us to the studio of the last remaining family that does miniature paintings. The gentleman has held over 9 international exhibitions of his works in Australia etc. - worth viewing his works. Thanks to Viator, we got a very intimate view into Jaisalmer and saw places which only locals could help you discover. Very good tour and totally recommended - do ask for Mr. Ghanshyam!</p>
