Reis onderweg tussen bestemmingen en bezoek bezienswaardigheden. Stop om het middeleeuwse fort van Monteriggioni te bezoeken voordat u uw vrije tijd doorbrengt in het heuvelstadje San Gimignano terwijl u door de vele winkels wandelt of geniet van de rijke keuken in een van de vele restaurants (niet inbegrepen). In de middag bezoekt u de Chianti-stad Greve in Chianti en het pittoreske gehucht Montefioralle voordat uw privéchauffeur u afzet op uw bestemming in Florence.

Laat uw chauffeursgids u om 9.30 uur ophalen bij uw accommodatie voor het begin van uw transfertour. Bezoek als eerste stop het imposante fort van Monteriggioni, een middeleeuws dorp met een complete ring van muren, gebouwd door de Sienese in de 13e eeuw als een verdedigingsbolwerk in hun oorlogen tegen Florence. Het weerstond alle aanvallen van zowel de Florentijnen als de troepen van de bisschop van Volterra totdat de sleutels uiteindelijk door de kapitein van de stad werden overhandigd aan de Medicean-troepen in een daad van verzoening.
Ga 's ochtends verder naar San Gimignano, dit door UNESCO beschermde heuvelstadje is een getuigenis van de Toscaanse middeleeuwse architectuur, met zijn sobere torens die de eeuwen uitdagend hebben overleefd en de imposante ringen van muren. Dit bruisende juweeltje ligt tussen idyllische met wijnranken begroeide heuvels en bloeit nog steeds met ambachtelijke boetieks van de lokale ambachten en winkels die het 'rode goud' van de stad verkopen, het saffraankruid. Na de lunch gaat u verder naar de Chianti Classico over panoramische Chianti-wegen en komt u aan in de stad Greve in Chianti, beroemd om zijn ovale plein vol met ambachtelijke winkels en wijnwinkels en omdat het de geboorteplaats is van de beroemde zeeman Verrazzano. Hier heeft u vrije tijd om wijnen te proeven en de winkels te bezoeken. voordat we doorgaan naar Florence, stoppen we nog een laatste keer om een schilderachtig en pittoresk gehucht te bezoeken waar we genieten van een wandeling langs de geplaveide straatjes en genieten van de adembenemende landschappen. Ga ten slotte na ongeveer 7 uur tour verder naar je bestemming in Florence.

It was a fabulous ride through villages and into Siena from Florence. Giovanni was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We were thrilled to be able to take this tour with him.
This was our third and final tour with Tuscan Escapes. Our transfer tour was exceptional! Mattia made the tour fun, educational and tailored to what we were interested in. Would highly recommend Tuscan Escapes for their tours. Their staff is out of this world!
The views were spectacular. Our driver was so great! She was really knowledgeable, easy to understand, extremely personable. Highly recoiled this tour. And the lunch at the winery was delicious as were the wines.
My boyfriend can be a nervous traveler, so I opted for private drivers from city to city, versus the train. This also allowed us to make stops along the way. This one in particular was excellent. The two stops were well worth seeing, and our driver dropped us off as close to the entrances as you can get, and was ready to pick us up once we were done. Very friendly driver.
Guiallaume picked us up in Florence for a San Gianmano to Siena tour. It was fantastic but the highlight was our guide. His energy and enthusiasm combined with his knowledge was fantastic. I’d do every tour offered if he was our guide again. Highlights were the lunch on the farm, and the flexibility offered as we had to be back to Florence earlier than planned. Five stars. Great experience for my wife and me and two teenage boys.
Elio is an amazing guide! Full of knowledge and wonderful stories. We learned so much about the Tuscan region and we really appreciated all the history and the sights he highlighted for us. This was a great way to spend a day in between Florence and our time in Siena.
We spent 4 days with Tuscany Escapes in September’19 and had a fabulous time. We’re ashamed it’s taken us so long to write this review for a company we had such a good time with! Our guides Davide, Mare and Ambra went out of their way to make our stay interesting and enjoyable. We felt very safe being driven and were taken to wonderful places and restaurants that we would never have found on our own. We also did a great group walking tour through Siena with Claudia a passionate member of the Unicorn contrada! Everything we did with Tuscan Escapes was interesting and fun and all the guides were charming, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and a pleasure to spend time with. If you are thinking of going to Tuscany you’ll have a magical time with this company. We did!
Our guide, Giada, was spectacular! On time pickup, incredibly knowledgeable on the two sites (and points between). Friendly and funny! Although more pricey than a group tour, a private tour is amazing and can be tailored to your needs. I can not sing her praises Hugh enough!
We had a fabulous day with a tailored tour based on our interests and with a 12 and 15 year old in tow. Our driver and guide, Davide, was fantastic. We stopped at San Gimignano and Monteriggioni with lunch at a saffron farm near San Gimignano and wine tasting at Monteriggioni. It was fabulous and a great break from lugging our hiking packs to and from train stations. Yes it costs more than buses but we got to see loads more, tailored to our needs, without having to worry about our luggage and loads of local information from Davide. Fantastic and thank you!
