Stap in het hart van Hiroshima, een stad die het diepe gewicht van de geschiedenis draagt, tijdens onze rondleiding van een halve dag. Onder leiding van de zoon van een overlevende van een A-bom biedt deze tour een uniek en zeer persoonlijk perspectief op de gebeurtenissen die deze veerkrachtige stad hebben gevormd. In de loop van vier uur zullen we belangrijke bezienswaardigheden verkennen die een aangrijpende herinnering aan het verleden vormen, wat een betekenisvolle en onvergetelijke ervaring garandeert. Dit zeer persoonlijke verhaal voegt een laagje authenticiteit en emotie toe aan je ervaring, waardoor het een werkelijk onvergetelijke reis wordt. Deze stadstour van een halve dag door Hiroshima is niet alleen een begeleide excursie; het is een kans om op een diep persoonlijk niveau verbinding te maken met de geschiedenis. Deze tour heeft 3opties om af te spreken met Gids. 1. Kogeltreinperron in station Hiroshima : Als de gast Hiroshima met de kogeltrein vanuit andere steden zoals OSAKA, KYOTO en TOKIO zal komen. 2. Receptie in uw hotel in Hiroshima : Als u al in Hiroshima verbleef, laten we dan uw hotelreceptie afspreken als het u uitkomt. 3. Andere plaats, zoals Peace park : We kunnen van tevoren sms'en waar we elkaar kunnen ontmoeten, we kunnen elkaar ontmoeten nadat uw ochtendverkenning is gedaan voordat deze tour begint.
1. Stop een Japanse schrijn die lijkt op andere Shinto-schrijn, maar heeft een unieke achtergrond, verhaal waarom Hiroshima werd een A-bom traget. 2. Zie overleefde bomen van A-Bomb, die regilience van het leven van de plant laat zien, waarom ze op korte afstand worden overleefd. 3. Bekijk het schoolmuseum dat laat zien hoe overlevenden met elkaar communiceren om hun familie, vrienden en wie liefheeft te vinden. 4. Stop bij de Nationale Bank van Japan, overleefde de bouw die nu nog overeind staat. 5. Wandelen door de winkelen naar Hypocenter (Ground Zero)

Stop bij de Japanse tempel om te zien hoe de hitte en explosie enorm waren toen de bom ontplofte. Bekijk enkele bewijzen van wat er is gebeurd.
Atoombomkoepel. Stop en bekijk de Atomic Bomb Dome die voor het eerst in de geschiedenis werd gebruikt en een herinnering aan wat hier is gebeurd.
Stop bij de Vredesvlam. Kijk eens naar Flame of Peace, dat een speciale betekenis heeft, waarom de vlam brandend houden?
Lunch in de buurt van Peace Memorial Park. Okonomi-yaki (Hiroshima-stijl), Ramen en Sushi op verzoek van gasten. De gids laat u kennismaken met lokale restaurants. Enkele opties voor vegetarische/veganistische/glutenvrije gasten.
Rust uit in een rusthuis of bezoek een klein museum/origami-ervaring. Dit gebouw is een van de overgebleven gebouwen van A-Bomb, nu wordt dit gebouw niet alleen gebruikt voor toeristische informatie, maar ook voor een klein museum van overlevenden in de kelder.
Stop bij het Kindermonument. Kijk eens naar het verhaal van een meisje dat een papierkraan probeert te vouwen in de hoop te herstellen van leukemie, gebaseerd op Japans geloof.
Bekijk de cenotaaf voor het vredesmonument. De gids deelt zijn geschiedenis, de reden voor zijn vorm en zijn betekenis. Gasten zullen het ontwerpconcept vinden.

Arrived in Hiroshima early morning from Osaka via the Shinkansen bullet train which was approximately a 90 minute trip. My guide Pancho met me at the Hiroshima train station and it was great to have the flexibility to mix things up as I needed a coffee and another breakfast and then rather than heading out on foot we jumped in a taxi to ground zero. It was a rich and informative day of mixed emotions that was proffesionly presented by Pancho. I appreciated his sharing of knowledge and his excellent command of english. This was my wifes idea of utilising the tourbylocals and having a one one tour to ensure that it met all my needs. It was definitely the best decision and I had the best guide for the best experience.

We had an excellent tour this morning with Pancho. His local expertise and personal/family insights were most interesting and helpful. While we could never learn about Hiroshima’s history and culture in a few days, our tour with Pancho was a great first step. I would recommend Pancho to anyone traveling on Hiroshima.

Exploring Hiroshima with Pancho is truly a gift. Our family immensely enjoyed our walking tour with “Pancho” (Tetsuo Hamano). A son of A-bomb survivors, he injected personal insight into our tour of the Peace Garden and local monuments (and taught us to make origami cranes), and helpfully answered all our questions – setting us up well for our moving visit to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. We had an unforgettable half-day walking tour with Pancho, a knowledgeable, compassionate, and deeply thoughtful local guide. From the start, Pancho brought Hiroshima’s history to life with compassion and insight. He shared not only historical facts but also his own family’s experience during and after the bombing, which added a deeply personal and emotional layer to the tour. We visited several major landmarks including the Peace Memorial Park and Atomic Bomb Dome. Pancho also took us to other sites that survived the blast including a school and bank. He guided us through making an origami crane, explaining its symbolism of peace and healing and which got an opportunity to donate at the Children’s Peace Monument. It was a powerful and moving moment. Pancho also recommended excellent local food options, including a delicious vegan and pork-free version of Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki—perfect for our dietary needs. As we parted ways, he kindly gave us tips for exploring Miyajima Island the next day. Beyond the history, we were struck by Hiroshima’s natural beauty, peaceful atmosphere, and resilience. This tour gave us a much deeper understanding of the city and its people. Highly recommend!

Pancho is engaging, knowledgeable and his love for his home city, Hiroshima, shines through. He is patient while also ensuring we cover the planned itinerary and more. Pancho helped us navigate the logistics of the rail system, taxis, and what to do in Kyoto as well as suggesting local restaurants , and even translated for us during our hotel check in process. We also signed up for the Miyajima island tour and UNESCO Itsukushima Shrine with Pancho because of his deep knowledge and appreciation for the region !

Pancho gave me a great overview of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and brought me to a number of former bomb sites and landmarks away from the tourist circuit which revealed personal stories (including his family's) of the lives lost and forever changed by the tragic event. We also visited the Peace Memorial Park, where I learnt more about the events that ravaged ground zero. I'm glad I took this tour before I visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum at Pancho's recommendation.

Pancho was amazing! As a second generation survivor, his family story tied in with the amazing history we were told was very heartfelt as we went through iconic places in Hiroshima. My daughter and I 30 enjoyed our half day tour and we’re very grateful for ponchos, thoughtful and kind person. As we went through the history, our hearts were heavy, but so grateful to have the amazing experience.
