Sonia covered a few key works of art in depth, putting each in historical context. She wove in anecdotes and humor, making the tour very enjoyable for our family. Great job!

We had the opportunity to meet Sonia Lopez-Pelaez, who is seen in the photo here, just at the entrance of the Prado. She offered to guide us, and we accepted. What a chance! We had an exciting visit focused on the works of three painters: Velasquez, Morillo, and Goya. Thank you to our guide.

If you are fortunate enough to have Sonia Lopez-Pelaez Rodil as your Expert Guide at the Prado - you have hit the jackpot! We were extremely impressed with the shared experience. She listened to us and adjust the tour with some of our preferences in mind on the fly. She tied the artwork from different eras into the history of Spain and the history of the Pardo. Here explanation was especially keen with describing brushstrokes and changes to the Artist's works during their lifetime. We will be back at the Prado, and we will engage Sonia again for another tour.

This is one of the best guided tours I have done in madrid and possibly even in all of Spain. Sonia is like an art history professor. She understands the history of the country, its relationships with other European nations, and how the history influenced the Art, the lives of the artist, and their approach to how they created these artworks. Rather than going through the entirety of the museum (which houses over 1500 pieces), she hand picked the most important ones and chose them in a way that was cohesive and flowed very well. I was accompanied by my 15 year-old daughter who has an interest in history, and she too was absolutely gob smacked with how good Sonia was. I would highly recommend her to anyone else in the future, you won’t regret it. and did I mention she speaks five languages?

We had a wonderful private tour of El Prado museum with Sonia. She was excellent! We learned so much and not just about the art but also about the artists and story behind the paintings. For us, it was a really great way to learn about the history of it all. I’ve visited El Prado museum before, but always on our own. Great tour with a very knowledgeable and helpful guide. My slow pace of walking (and thinking 😆) was accommodated and I learned a lot. Is it worth paying extra for a private tour, tailored to your needs and preferences? Oh yes, a definite yes from me.

Sonia is a highly experienced guide. She gives a very informative tour and made sure we had a real appreciation for The Prado and the magnificent art. We highly recommend having a guide for the museum and if at all possible make sure it is with Sonia!!

Today we had the amazing Sonia to help navigate our way around The Prado Museum. Her knowledge of Spanish history captured by it's artists gave us a better understanding and appreciation of Spain's famous artists Marie & Brian from New Zealand

Sonia is very professional and attentive to the customer s interests. Nice knowledge of subjects and very fluid explanations in French... 1 h30 pleasant and informative visit that we do not see pass.
