We bezoeken De Zaanse Schans, een charmant historisch behoudsdorp vol traditionele huizen en iconische windmolens. Je hebt de mogelijkheid om de windmolens te verkennen, te kijken hoe klompen worden gemaakt en te genieten van een heerlijke kaasproeverij. Daarna gaan we naar Keukenhof, ’s werelds mooiste lentetuin! De tuinen zijn geopend van 20 maart tot 11 mei 2025 en bevatten ongeveer 7 miljoen lentebloemen, waaronder tulpen, narcissen, hyacinten en krokussen. Houd er rekening mee dat de bloemen niet allemaal tegelijk bloeien, dus de weergave kan variëren gedurende het seizoen.

We komen aan op de Zaanse Schans. Dit is een beschermd dorp met een verscheidenheid aan historische huizen, pakhuizen en werkende industriële windmolens. Het voelt alsof je terug in de tijd reist! Je ervaart hoe het leven was tussen de 18e en 19e eeuw. We zullen genieten van een aangename wandeling langs de oude houten huizen met hun bewaard gebleven originele details, zoals ceremoniële deuren en gebeeldhouwde lateien, lokale chocolade proeven in de chocoladewinkel en afsluiten met een bezoek aan een werkende windmolen.
Bij de kaasboerderij van Henry Willig zullen we een Goudse en Edammer kaasproeverij houden. Ze staan in de top 10 van de kaasmakers ter wereld. Als je een kaasliefhebber bent... dan ben je in de kaashemel! Ze hebben 30 smaken en ontwerpen de kazen speciaal voor op reis.
Demonstratie klompenambachten. Altijd al willen weten hoe een klomp gemaakt wordt? Doe mee met de klompenknutseldemonstratie en ontdek het. In het klompenmuseum vertellen wij u alles over klompen. U kunt zelfs een paar klompen uitproberen of kopen!
Een bezoek aan de laatste verfmolen ter wereld “De Kat”. Het werd oorspronkelijk gebouwd in 1781. Het is een achthoekige molen met een roterende kap en een externe galerij. Sinds de restauratie en gedeeltelijke herbouw in 1960 is het ingericht om kleurstoffen als pigmenten te malen. Na een uitleg hoe de windmolen werkt, heb je de mogelijkheid om de windmolen te beklimmen en prachtige foto's te maken op de externe galerij.

Bezoek de mooiste lentetuin ter wereld! We brengen hier twee uur door om te genieten van alle lentebloemen. Inclusief lunch.

Had an awesome day visiting windmills and viewing tulips with Esther! She had great insight into how windmills work and millers operate, being a miller’s daughter herself (hence Windmill Girl!). She also knew all the best photo spots and took great photos! Super friendly and generous, too, with great taste in music. We had a super fun day with her!

Incredible trip! Esther was fun, friendly and informative. Loved the local knowledge and ties to the area. Early in flower season she made sure we saw as much as possible, just one among many efforts made to see that we had an exceptional day. Our guide’s name was Esther and she is a native of Nederland and actually grew up in a working windmill that her parents still own and operate today. Bring a local means that she has additional information and unique perspectives to share as you go from place to place. We did the windmill and tulip tour. It was March 21st so just a bit too early to see the tulips in bloom. We did still see fields of yellow daffodils which were pretty, but the tour was quite expensive and we were a bit disappointed that the tulip farm didn’t offer a “low season” rate or at least throw in lunch or something. I would definitely recommend hiring Esther as your guide, but if you’re going to see the tulips, she tells us that mid-April until end of May is the best time to go.

The Keukenhof gardens are only open for seven weeks a year, and it all depends on Mother Nature what will be in bloom during that time.
