Genesteld in de omhelzing van West-Macedonië, Amyntaio is een regio van ongeëvenaarde schoonheid, versierd met drie betoverende meren die de omliggende bergen spiegelen. De culinaire scène is een heerlijke symfonie van smaken, met lokale etablissementen zoals Naoumidis restaurant, Thomas en Kontosoros die prestigieuze prijzen voor hun gastronomische uitmuntendheid hebben gewonnen. Het zijn echter de wijngaarden die echt de schijnwerpers stelen in Amyntaio. Wereldwijd bekend om zijn Xinomavro-wijnhuizen, produceren de terroir en bekwame wijnboeren wijnen die de zintuigen prikkelen. Terwijl je de wijnmakerijpaden doorkruist, zoals Alpha Estate en Domain Karanika — met Vegoritis Winery als optionele stop — ontdek je de geheimen van dit mystieke land, waar elke slok en elke hap een reis is naar het hart van de Griekse gastvrijheid en het sublieme kunstenaarschap van de natuur. Domaine Karanika is een wijnmakerij met drie niveaus op een helling aan de oevers van het meer Vegoritida, tussen de dorpen Amyntaio, Vegora en Lakkia.
Lake Petron heeft een verleidelijke schoonheid, vooral tijdens de wintermaanden. Het is een van de 4 verbindende meren van Amyndeon die behoren tot het Europese netwerk van beschermde gebieden NATURA 2000 en is een toevluchtsoord voor 130 soorten vogels, waaronder vrij zeldzaam.
Een prachtig ontworpen wijnmakerij in het hart van de wijnbouwzone van Amyndeon.
Het Vegoritidameer in de regio Macedonië is het derde diepste meer van Griekenland, met op een gegeven moment een diepte van 50 meter. Het maakt ook deel uit van het NATURA 2000-netwerk.

This was an extraordinary tour. Many people go to Santorini and only take in the beauty of Oia and Fira. We wanted venture past the city walls, and learn about history and culture and Justelene did just that. We visited a winery whose wine options were vast and delicious. This winery also had an array of beautiful artwork. we never felt like we were being pushed to buy, rather, invited to enjoy. Next was the Donkey brewery where we had several tastings and had a fun time with the 2 brew masters serving us and telling us stories about the friends who created Donkey. Then we went to an amazing farm where we learned and sampled pistachio's, tomatoes, cucumbers and many other vegetables grown to create culinary delights. Next, Justelene brought us to a tiny village to walk around at our leisure. The day was more than fantastic, not too rushed and yet we covered everything that we asked for. Thank you Justelene for a great day.
