Privérondleiding door Newgrange en de heuvel van Tara
Beschrijving
Begin aan een exclusieve rondleiding van 6 uur vanuit Dublin en duik in het rijke erfgoed van Ierland. Verken de oude neolithische graven van Newgrange en dompel jezelf onder in de historische betekenis van de heuvel van Tara in Boyne Valley. Onder begeleiding van een deskundige en sympathieke gids ontvangt u gedurende de hele reis inzichtelijk commentaar. Bij terugkomst is er een mogelijkheid voor een tussenstop in het dorp Howth voor een heerlijke maaltijd. Howth, een pittoresk vissersdorpje, heeft een geschiedenis die teruggaat tot 819 na Christus en markeert de komst van Noorse Vikingen in de baai. Het is belangrijk op te merken dat het eerder genoemde een mogelijk overzicht is van de activiteiten van de dag, waarover uw gids u grondig zal informeren voordat u aan de tour begint.

Newgrange is een bijzondere plek die door de UNESCO als belangrijk wordt erkend, omdat het een enorme historische waarde heeft die teruggaat tot 3200 voor Christus. Om te bezoeken moet u van tevoren online kaartjes kopen, omdat hier de regel 'wie het eerst komt, het eerst maalt' geldt. Zodra u bij ons heeft geboekt, vertellen wij u hoe u aan die tickets kunt komen.
De Heuvel van Tara staat bekend omdat het de plek is waar de Hoge Koningen van Ierland lang geleden regeerden. Het was rond de tijd van Jezus een belangrijke plaats voor politiek en religie. Mensen dachten dat de goden daar woonden en dat het een manier was om eeuwig geluk te bereiken. Mensen zeggen dat Saint Patrick, een beroemd figuur, daarheen ging toen hij naar Ierland kwam. Terwijl je daar bent, deelt je gids verhalen over oude Keltische koningen.
Als je genoeg tijd hebt, bestaat de kans dat je Four Knocks bezoekt. Het is een andere plek waar je kunt zien of je geen kaartjes voor Newgrange kunt krijgen. Four Knocks is een oude tombe die ongeveer 5000 jaar geleden werd gebouwd. Four Knocks heeft een korte gang die uitkomt in een brede, peervormige kamer met aan de zijkant drie kleinere kamers. Lang geleden was het dak van hout en werd het ondersteund door een middenpaal. Maar in 1952 plaatsten ze er een betonnen dak op, nadat ze daar twee jaar hadden gegraven.
Verken de historische Hill of Slane tijdens onze boeiende tour. Deze plek, genesteld in County Meath, bruist van oude verhalen en adembenemende uitzichten. Bekend om zijn banden met Saint Patrick, die hier het Paasvuur aanstak in weerwil van de heidense koning, is de Hill of Slane doordrenkt van spirituele betekenis. Terwijl je deze glooiende heuvel beklimt, ontdek je de ruïnes van een klooster gesticht in de 15e eeuw, wat bijdraagt aan de mystiek. De panoramische vergezichten vanaf de top omvatten de Boyne Valley, een landschap bezaaid met oudheden. Dompel jezelf onder in de schoonheid en legendes van de Hill of Slane terwijl onze deskundige gids de geschiedenis ervan onthult tijdens deze gedenkwaardige reis.
Omdat dit een privérondleiding is, is uw gids flexibel en zal hij aanpassingen aan de reisroute aanbevelen op basis van uw interesses. Als je op de dag iets intrigerends tegenkomt en het wilt verkennen, laat het je gids dan weten. Zij zullen aan uw verzoeken voor u en uw groep voldoen. De tour duurt doorgaans ongeveer zes uur, maar als u deze wilt verlengen, kunnen er tegen een extra vergoeding extra uren worden geregeld. Hoewel Newgrange een hoogtepunt is met een verkenningstocht van ongeveer 2 uur, zijn de andere activiteiten op de lijst optioneel en afhankelijk van de beschikbare tijd. Ons doel is om uw 6 uur in de Boyne Valley en County Meath bevredigend te maken, en uw gids zal die dag met u samenwerken om ervoor te zorgen dat u een lonende ervaring heeft.

We spent the day touring Newgrange, a sheep farm and a couple monastic sites with Miriam. We also had a stop in Howth for lunch. She was punctual, professional, knowledgeable and personable. We really enjoyed our day and by the end of it we felt that we met a new friend in Miriam. She really made our day memorable!
We had a great day with Noel. He had tons of fascinating knowledge to share with us about all of the places that we went to. He was very flexible on start times and meeting places, knowing that we had a group with four children he was kind and personable, and we definitely recommend him and will use him as a guide when we return for future trip.

Informative and interesting trip back in time to the beginning of life in Ireland. Miriam was great with lots of interesting tidbits of information and recommendations of things to do and see in and around Dublin.
We had a fantastic day with Noel and the tour that Custom Irish tours. We started are day at the Leck Farm and Alison was very nice and welcoming to us. Lambing season had just finished and she had 2 lambs for my daughter and her partners to hold. Noel took us to Newgrange and explained how the tour would work, it was very helpful. We spent the morning touring both sites and then ate lunch at the cafe at the visitor center which very good and affordable. Noel took us to our final stop was Tom King the Blacksmith which if you are interested in hearing stories about ancient Ireland and imersing yourself in the lore of Ireland this is a must to do. We walked his farm and the ancient path that tribes of Ireland took to get to Tara and also a famine work house ruin. Noel took us back to or AirBnB and we had a great time. We needed to schedule our Newgrange tour on short notice, and Noel came through for us with less than a day's notice. We had a great time learning about ancient Ireland, and we were especially grateful for Noel's ability to customize on the fly to give us the best tour possible. The Hill of Tara didn't make sense in the weather, so we went to the Hill of Slane and Monasterboice instead. The hospitality and good company were a nice addition as well. Highly recommended!

Of our ten days in Ireland, the one we spent with Miriam of IrishTours365 was by far the most memorable and special. Miriam is a wealth of information and Irish lore, and on the drive to Newgrange (which was absolutely incredible), she painted a picture of what it's like to grow up and raise a family in Ireland. We were so lucky to have her insights as we visited the high crosses of Monasterboice, the majestic Hill of Slane, and the magical Hill of Tara. We especially loved hearing stories about fairies and banshees on the drives from site to site. Miriam charmed our kids (an 11-year-old daughter and 14-year-old son) and took really beautiful family photos -- a major plus for moms like me who often find ourselves behind the camera and in none of the pictures! Miriam made our New York City-based family feel completely at home.

Noel was a great guide for a group of 3 couples. He showed up on time, was engaging, had a great sense of humor, and was very knowledgeable about our destinations -- which were Newgrange, the Hill of Tara and Slane Abbey. He was always offering to take group photos in each location and he did them well. It was a full-day tour, but we were never bored and so glad to have selected the right guide!

This was such an interesting and informative trip. Noel did an excellent job of explaining the background of NewGrange and made sure we had all we needed to get into the facility.
