Deze filmset bevindt zich op een door een familie gerunde boerderij, de tour zou onthullen hoe deze pittoreske landbouwgrond werd getransformeerd in de Shire from Middle Earth. Ontdek de glooiende heuvels, loopbruggen en Hobbiton-holes uit de films. Ervaren gidsen zullen je begeleiden en je interessante feiten geven over hoe de films zijn gemaakt. Zie live de Hobbiton Holes, de Green Dragon Inn, The Mill en de Party Tree. Je Middle Earth-avontuur eindigt met een gratis bier, bier, cider of gemberbier in de Green Dragon Inn.
De Glow-worm bekend als Arachnocampa Luminosa, is uniek voor Nieuw-Zeeland. Duizenden van deze kleine wezens stralen hun onmiskenbare lichtgevende licht uit, terwijl uw deskundige gids informatie geeft over de historische en geologische betekenis van de grot. De grotten werden meer dan 30 miljoen jaar geleden gevormd en bestaan uit 2 niveaus. Het bovenste niveau is droog en bevat de ingang naar de grotten en formaties die bekend staan als de Catacomben. Op het lagere niveau zijn beekgangen en de kathedraal, loop van het bovenste niveau naar een boottocht van 45 minuten door het sterrenwonderland van de Glowworm-grot. Loop door de majestueuze Cathedral Cove, beroemd om zijn akoestiek.

We were given the pleasure of having James B. from the UK, as our host for our private tour. He was extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer ALL of our questions (Including, but not limited to animal/bird species, landscaping, connection to the movies, even the grass used in different areas of Hobbiton!!). He was unbelievably awesome and made our experience that much better. If you ever come to visit, ask for James!!

Hobbiton was awesome, so much more than expected…our driver was great, very informative and so helpful at end of day when I need to make a visit to urgent care (had a bad cough needing attention)…

We had a wonderful trip traveling to the Hobbiton Movie Set and Waitimo Glowworm Cave with the “Black Car Transfers & Tours Auckland”. The driver Mr. Christ was a very friendly and knowledgable person to introduce us the interesting places to visit and the restaurants to go for dinner in Auckland. He was a very good driver with an experience in driving on the road in order to avoid the traffic condition that could have occurred because of the rugby match. And we finally arrived safely in the Queen-street of Auckland at the end of the trip. And we are grateful for the good service provided by the “Black Car Transfers & Tour Auckland.

On our first trip ever to New Zealand, it was critically important to us that we had a chance to see some of the key unique attractions and understand better the local life, wildlife, and history. As part of that, we booked a bigger “private” tour on a bus. But at the last minute, we decided we’d be much better off with a more intimate and comfortable experience. Alas I was reluctant because of the significant additional cost. But my wife pushed me to upgrade us, and I’m so glad she did because, thankfully, we were swept away on an amazing and amazingly comfortable day! Kris was a wonderful steward of all of the vehicle, tour destinations, and the country. Not only did he provide some wonderful conversation and commentary on all aspects of the land and the landmarks, he also went above and beyond to rearrange parts of the day on the fly to ensure we had VIP access and the best part of the experience. Went on a tour to Hobbiton movie set and Waitomo Caves. Chris, our driver, was an excellent Tour guide. He gave us an excellent explanation of the history of the caves. He took good care of us and treated us very well. He was an excellent tour guide. I would recommend him to others and would use him again.
