Mary was an excellent driver with a wealth of knowledge. She picked us up and dropped us off right at our hotel in Killarney. Her car was comfortable and she made lots of brilliant stops throughout the day. We saw beaches, cliffs, villages, went shopping, gorgeous mountains and lots and lots of sheep and cows. I would highly recommend Mary.
Mary our tour guide was perfect. On time. Knowledgeable and made the experience great. Couldn’t have done it ourselves.
Thank you so much, Jim. I'm glad you enjoyed your tour. Wishing you all the very best for the rest of your trip in Ireland. Mary G
Mary G gave us the tour of a lifetime! It was so thorough and full of good information--including information about famous Irish women, heretofore forgotten, that she has helped resurrect. She was superb. Not only was her information top-notch, but she was enthusiastic, went the extra mile, and never stopped smiling. We were lucky to have her. Dear Prof. Bizzarro, Thank you so much for your wonderfully kind review. It truly means a great deal, and I’m so glad you enjoyed the tour. It was a real pleasure to spend time with you and your group—having visitors with such a strong interest in Irish Studies and local history makes the experience especially meaningful for me. I’m delighted that the story of Janie McCarthy resonated with you. She is someone very close to my heart, as I researched her life for my genealogy thesis, and I’m always happy to have the chance to share her story and help keep her memory alive. I was also fascinated by your group’s work on the John McShain connection with Killarney. I’ve previously had the privilege of touring with some of John McShain’s nephews, which sparked a special interest for me in his story and the legacy he left here. Hearing about the book you are working on made our time together even more memorable. Thank you again for your generous words and for bringing such curiosity, enthusiasm, and thoughtful discussion to the day. I wish you every success with your research and writing, and I hope our paths might cross again in Killarney in the future. Warmest wishes, Mary G
We spent three wonderful days with Mary G. We toured Killarney, the Ring of Kerry, a stop and our family farm in County Kerry, the Dingle Coast, and a transport to Galway. Mary is an excellent tour guide. She is so knowledgeable of the area. Our time with Mary was the best part of our vacation in Ireland. It was nice to have a local share her town and Country with us. It was a carefree 3 days. I would highly recommend her tour. Sincerely, Kathleen J
Thank you so much, Kathleen. I appreciate you taking the time to review your tour with me. I'm happy you enjoyed your time with me as much as I did your company. Take care, Mary
This is the tour you want! Stop scrolling! Whether you are trying to stay up from jet lag, getting a feel for Killarney, or only have a half day before catching the train, this is the right tour. Margaret switched up the schedule a bit to accommodate for the rain. She’s lived there her whole life so you get history and perspectives you don’t get elsewhere. In fact, I liked her so much that I sat up front to chat along the way. I had my teen son and preteen daughter with me who were fully engaged despite jet lag. You get a bit of everything that is Killarney! Loved it!
Thank you for your excellent review! We're thrilled to hear you and your family had such a great experience exploring Killarney. Your kind words about the tour mean a lot, and we hope to welcome you back in the future for another memorable adventure! Safe travels! Mary
Mary picked me up at my hotel at 8 a.m. so that we could drive the Gap of Dunloe before the single track road became clogged with "jaunty" carts. It was a perfect Irish morning -- intermittent drizzle with the sun peaking through the clouds occasionally. We periodically stopped so that I could take photos or simply to enjoy the absolute quiet and peace (and for the sheep!). After we left the mountains, we visited sites in and around Killarney National Park, including Muckross Abbey and Muckross House. Mary's knowledge of Irish history and folklore go beyond the Chamber of Commerce talking points on the region's landmarks.
Thank you so much, Kay; I appreciate your feedback. I'm happy you enjoyed it. I look forward to showing you other sites if you ever return. Mary
It was really a pleasure to be guided by Mary who speaks French very well (the local language can be difficult to understand with the local accent...). Mary also knew how to adapt the program to our interests: teach us a lot in a single half day about the living conditions in Killarney, the history of the area, and also make us discover great places around -> Muckross House and its Abbey, the landscapes of the National Park (Gap of Dunloe, Ladies view...). Really a beautiful day, we definitely recommend ...
Merci beaucoup a vous deux, c'etait un grand plaisir de faire votre connaissance et de passer la demi-journée en votre gentille compagnie. Merci aussi de votre recommendation, je l'apprécie. Mary
Excellent tour of Killarney. Mary was an excellent guide. Very informative. Would do it again, highly recomend this tour.
Thank you so much, Kris. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I appreciate you taking the time to give your feedback. Mary
We loved every second of our tour with Mary G. We are a family of 3 and Mary picked us up at Bantry in her lovely auto and we toured the beautiful Gouggane Barra to Killarney--wonderful sights and driven carefully and expertly. Amazing views including mountains, waterfalls, beaches and cliffs. She knew it all and shared it with enthusiam, knowledge and love for Ireland. We then toured her hometown and castle gardens in Killarney where we had a lovely lunch. Mary then took us back to the Bantry Port via the Healy Pass which allowed us different scenery than the route in the morning. She is a superior tour guide, light hearted and told us wonderful stories while sharing history. We recommend her highly for any tour she gives in Ireland. What a special person she is!
Thank you so much for your very kind words. How lucky am I to be touring this beautiful scenery with awesome people like you! Maybe I’ll see you all again some day. Thank you. Mary
We actually had 4 days of private tours with Mary: 1) Ring of Kerry, 2) Beara Peninsula, 3) Dingle Peninsula, 4) Killarney National Park, Muckross, Ross Castle, Torc Waterfall, Killarney House and museum, town of Killarney, Gap of Dunloe. We saw so much more in these 4 days than we ever could have any other way. There's no way we could have driven those roads ourselves, plus Mary knew all of the best places to stop for views, photo ops, food, and most importantly-clean bathrooms! :) Having Mary as your guide is like having a close friend or family member show you the best their area has to offer, but without any of the family drama. She was prompt, friendly, and very accommodating. I recommend Mary to anyone who wants to get a more local, in-depth view and understanding of this spectacular part of Ireland. My only wish is that she had provided us with a list of all the stops so I could remember the names better. We saw so much!
Thank you both so much for for taking the time to share your review with others, I really appreciate it. I thoroughly enjoyed your company throughout the four days and look forward to welcoming you again should you come back! Take care, Mary
