Onder leiding van lokale studenten die gepassioneerd zijn over het delen van hun kennis en liefde voor Hanoi met bezoekers, kun je door de smalle straatjes lopen en verborgen juweeltjes Frans ontdekken die vele jaren geleden in Hanoi zijn geplaatst, terwijl je gids je meeneemt op een reis door de tijd en verhalen deelt van het verleden en heden van de stad. Je krijgt de kans om de architectuur, die een sterke Franse invloed heeft, te verkennen en historische bezienswaardigheden te zien zoals de Ngoc Son-tempel en het Hoan Kiem-meer. Je gids laat je niet alleen kennismaken met bezienswaardigheden als de Sint-Jozefkathedraal en Trang Tien Plaza, maar neemt je ook mee naar historische bezienswaardigheden zoals de Hoa lo-gevangenis en het operagebouw van Hanoi. Deze sites zullen licht werpen op de periode van culturele interferentie tussen Vietnam en Frankrijk. (Schema is flexibel) Onze gids haalt je op en dan beginnen we onze Hanoi Old Quarter Walking Tour. De eerste bestemming van de tour stopt bij het Hoan Kiem-meer, dat wordt beschouwd als het hart van Hanoi. U kunt veel lokale bewoners interessante activiteiten observeren, zoals badminton spelen, oefeningen doen.
Vervolgens gaan we naar St. Joseph's Cathedra, het representatieve bewijs van de Franse koloniale architectuur. Bezoekers kunnen de kathedraal in Hanoi alleen binnengaan tijdens de openingstijd van de ceremoniële oefening als het volgende schema: weekdag (05.30 - 18.15 uur), zaterdag (18.00 uur), zondag (05.00 uur, 07.00 uur: 00:00, 09:00, 11:00, 16:00, 18:00 en 20:00
Onze volgende stop is Trang Tien Ice Cream Shop waar de Franse kolonialisten in 1958 ijs aan het Vietnamese volk introduceerden
Daarna zullen we Opera House of Hilton Opera bezoeken, waar in 1911 werd voltooid na 10 jaar bouwen, door twee Franse architecten, Broyer en V. Harley, die lijken op de Opéra Garnier de Paris.
Ten slotte gaan we naar de Hoa Lo-gevangenis waar de meeste exposities betrekking hebben op het gebruik van de gevangenis tot het midden van de jaren vijftig, met de nadruk op de Vietnamese onafhankelijkheidsstrijd van Frankrijk.

Last week, I joined a free walking tour in Hanoi and had the opportunity to explore the Old Quarter with my guide, Emma (Chau). She was incredibly helpful, friendly, kind, and fun to spend time with. She took me to Train Street and introduced me to the famous coconut coffee, which I really enjoyed. She also shared the history and stories behind Hoan Kiem Lake, making the experience even more meaningful. Since I only had one day in Hanoi, she kindly helped me make the most of my short visit. She even guided me to the station before I continued my journey back to the airport. I hope to return to Hanoi someday and meet Emma again. We had a wonderful experience exploring old quarter with Maiya and Jenny. Our kids (4yo and 8yo) who were with us asked for the guides again the next day because they had so much fun.
