Carrickfergus Castle (van het Ierse Carraig Ḟergus of "cairn of Fergus", de naam "Fergus" betekent "sterke man") is een Normandisch kasteel in Noord-Ierland, gelegen in de stad Carrickfergus in County Antrim, aan de noordelijke oever van Belfast Lough. Het kasteel werd op zijn beurt belegerd door de Schotten, inheemse Ieren, Engelsen en Fransen, en speelde tot 1928 een belangrijke militaire rol en is nog steeds een van de best bewaarde middeleeuwse bouwwerken in Noord-Ierland. Het was strategisch nuttig, met 3/4 van de omtrek van het kasteel omringd door water (hoewel in de moderne tijd slechts 1/3 wordt omringd door water als gevolg van landaanwinning).

De Giant's Causeway (Iers: Clochán an Aifir) is een gebied van ongeveer 40.000 in elkaar grijpende basaltkolommen, het resultaat van een oude vulkaanuitbarsting. Het is gelegen in County Antrim aan de noordkust van Noord-Ierland, ongeveer vijf kilometer ten noordoosten van de stad Bushmills.

Kevin was gem! He knew all about Belfast and their history, and took us on a personal tour for our family to the giant Causeway and a yummy little place for food. A lovely experience if you’re looking for a private tour.

Please be very cautious before booking with this company. We had booked with them while we were on a cruise for the Causeway tour. They sent me an email two days prior to our tour stating that they didn't have enough interest and the tour was cancelled. Unfortunately, I never received the email since the WIFI was a bit spotty on the ship. They didn't contact get your guide or contact me with the phone number I provided. Ok, I understand if you don't have interest and the reason for the cancellation, but this is not why I am warning you not to book with them. Trying to get a refund from them was next to impossible. I sent several emails with no response regarding a refund. Since I booked with get your guide they told me, and quite rudely so, that I needed to get a refund through get your guide and it was my responsibility as the customer to take care of this action. So, you cancel the trip, but will not contact get your guide to get us a refund...makes no sense. Then Allen Tours started bashing the get your guide company, stating this was their fault. Unbelievable. I would stay clear of this company and not use their services. There are many tour companies out there that will provide better service. In the end, Get your guide came through and got us the refund, but Allen Tours, you dropped the ball on customer service here!
This review is in the wrong section and the tour was not booked as a private tour. We asked them to cancel the booking that the party made with Get Your Guide and this has to be done 48 hours in advance as required by Get Your Guide refund policy. We are unable to provide a refund as the person had to get the refund from the Get Your Guide booking group. If you have booked directly with our own website it would not have been a problem to provide a refund. It is important to check your emails as well, especially when you are docked in case you have not got wifi access when the ship is at sea.
Our guide was knowledgeable but this picture is deceiving we did not get to go across the rope bridge we only saw it from a distance. We did get to go to giant causeway which is a site to see.
You booked a private tour so you are in control of what you see or don't see so it seems strange you would deceive yourself . The National Trust who unfortunately run the rope bridge have no staff to deal with groups of people due to sacking them all during Covid now nobody will work for them so please complain to them as we also do.
What a tour! We had the bus to ourselves and went at our own pace. I HIGHLY recommended doing a private tour like this if you are a party of 8 or more. We saw more and did much more that the people on the cruise ship tours on the big busses that only go as fast as the slowest person on board.
Was our 2nd tour with Allen's. 1st was the public group tour (which was great enough for a 2nd booking) and this time I booked private family coastal tour and it was WONDERFUL. Very accommodating for different stops than the larger group and Lindsay provided great information on the history and current day Northern Ireland. From booking the trip to dropping us off at the end, Allen's Tours took great care of us!
