Het kasteel Peleș is een prachtig neorenaissancefort in het Karpatengebergte bij Sinaia. Gebouwd tussen 1873 en 1914 in opdracht van koning Carol I als koninklijke residentie en jachtslot, combineert het Germaanse Renaissance, gotische opwekking en barokke stijlen. Het kasteel wordt omgeven door aangelegde tuinen en biedt een prachtig uitzicht op de bergen. Binnen heeft het meer dan 160 kamers, waaronder koninklijke appartementen, bibliotheken en een collectie Europese kunst, sculpturen en middeleeuwse wapens. Peleș staat bekend om zijn ingewikkelde houtwerk, glas-in-loodramen en uitgebreide inrichting en weerspiegelt de koninklijke weelde van Roemenië. De Royal Armoury toont een rijke collectie middeleeuwse wapens. Als een van de meest populaire attracties van Roemenië, Peleș Castle is een symbool van koninklijk erfgoed en architectonische uitmuntendheid. Kasteel Zemelen, vaak aangeduid als "Dracula's Castle", is een historisch fort in het Karpatengebergte, nabij Brașov. Gebouwd in de 14e eeuw, diende het als militair bolwerk en koninklijke residentie, het bewaken van de bergpas. De gotische, renaissance en middeleeuwse architectuur van het kasteel, met iconische torens en ophaalbrug, dragen bij aan de mysterieuze allure. Octavius is an excellent and polite driver and guide. A wide knowledge in the history of Romania. Always find the quick and good ways Arriving at destination, clean and spacious car. Interesting and comfortable, very good English. We had a long and fun day and even got a meeting with a brown bear, not part of the show. Highly recommended.

A great day trip out from Bucharest with the very personable and English speaking Tavi, imparting great knowledge of the history of the country and both Peles & Bran (Dracula’s) Castle, We also visited the beautiful fortified old town of Brasov where we saw spectacular views and had a traditional Romanian lunch of pork and bean broth in a bread bowl. We also had the best gelato we have ever eaten and that includes a handful of visits to Italy!

We had a full day trip with a private driver & guide, called Tavi. He was so friendly & knowledgeable. When we’re travelling for so long, it’s important to us to have a good, safe driver & a friendly one like Tavi is an absolute bonus. It was a long tour, but we had our expectations managed from the outset. We were given water in the car, a nice touch. Tavi was super knowledgeable about the places we visited & amenable to slight time & order of visit changes. Tavi hand-held us through what to expect & how to buy tickets ..I would definitely recommend this driver to anyone.

An unforgettable experience. From the first moment to the last. We had a great day out on this excursion. It is a long day with plenty of driving but the scenery was wonderful and the time passed quickly with our excellent guide, Roxana.
