Rome is zowel het begin- als het eindpunt van de tour, omdat het 2 uur rijden is naar Pompeii en vervolgens 3 uur terug van Amalfi naar je accommodatie.
De spectrale ruïnes van het oude Pompeii leiden naar een van 's werelds meest fascinerende archeologische ervaringen. Veel van de waarde van de site ligt in het feit dat de stad niet wordt weggeblazen door de Vesuvius in 79 na Christus maar begraven onder een laag lapilli (brandende fragmenten van puimsteen). Positano is een waar paradijs, verticaal ontwikkeld in een wirwar van straten, steegjes en winkels die de kleurrijke Positano-mode die over de hele wereld bekend is, tentoonstellen. In het stadscentrum staat de parochiekerk van Santa Maria Assunta die opduikt met zijn grote koepel, betegeld met majolica en een aantal kostbare werken herbergt, zoals polychrome marmeren altaren. Voor Le Sirenuse Hotel liggen vier kleine eilanden in de uitgestrektheid van de blauwe zee. Positano betekent zomermode. De boetieks maakten elke zomer duizenden jurken van katoen, zijde en linnen. Positano-creaties zijn altijd origineel, kleurrijk en creatief.
Amalfi, de oudste maritieme republiek van Italië en symbool van de kust van Amalfi, blijft bezoekers betoveren net als in de dagen van de Grand Tour. Iets meer dan drie vierkante kilometer verwoestend mooi landschap aan de monding van de Valle dei Mulini: dit is Amalfi, een stad die zich als een waaier naar de zee opent, van achteren beschut door de steile hellingen van de Monti Lattari. De oude Romeinse oorsprong van Amalfi blijkt uit een aantal ruïnes, waaronder die van een nymphaeum dat dateert uit het bewind van keizer Tiberius. Amalfi is de oudste van de vier grote maritieme republieken van Italië en bloeide drie eeuwen lang onder de Noormannen, Longobarden en zelfs de Saracenen. Het verval begon in 1137 toen het werd verslagen en geplunderd door de rivaliserende republiek Pisa.

We had no idea what to expect in Pompeii but never imagined how much of the city had been restored. Our Pompeii tour guide was so knowledgeable and passionate about his city. He shared insights as former archaeologist — what a treat! Our host, Maria Luisa, was so fun and engaged for a long day. Maria Luisa adjusted to show us places and provide history tidbits to help us understand Roman history. Both she and our driver Flavin were very attentive to our needs from bio breaks to coffee stops. I would highly recommend this tour — ask for Maria Luisa.

There’s no better way to spend your Birthday!!! The history of Pompei and seeing the ruins is a once in a lifetime experience. Our guide Josefina was extremely knowledgeable and is known as one of the best in the area! Our driver Luigi was very experienced and navigated the traffic very well ensuring a safe trip with over 6-8hours of driving. Our main tour guide Rosanna was very sweet and knowledgeable about the history of Rome and everywhere in between as we made our way to the coast. She arranged a wonderful lunch along the coast in Positano at one of the best restaurants and we shopped in Amalfi collecting many gifts for friends and family from handmade local paintings and ceramics to the infamous LimonCello! We highly recommend this experience and look forward to returning here to create more memories!

Traveling with 6 other relatives thought parts of Italy in a guided tour we only had one day for ourselves to do whatever we wanted. Two of our relatives had used their devices in prior trips and recommended booking a day trip with Rossana & Luigi to Pompeii, Sorrento & The Amalfi Coast. They came to pick us up at the hotel in a van where our group fit comfortably. While Luigi drove us cautiously, Rossana keep us interested with lots of historical, cultural & local info as we rode for about 1:20 minutes to our first stop. Long story short we all had a real blast! They were personable, fun, knowledgeable, kept us on schedule and back to Rome safe & elated of such a fun trip!
