Je tour begint vanaf je ophaallocatie, waar je je chauffeur en gids voor de dag zult ontmoeten. Daar zullen we onze reis naar de noordkust beginnen, door de glooiende landbouwgrond van County Antrim die is gebruikt voor de beroemde Game of Thrones TV Show. De Antrim Coast Road wordt algemeen beschouwd als een van de mooiste stukken weg ter wereld. De weg omhelst de kustlijn en biedt ongelooflijke uitzichten op de zee, langs ongerepte stranden en beschutting onder ruige kliffen. Misschien zie je Schotland zelfs op een goede dag!
Onze eerste stop van de dag brengt ons naar het verbazingwekkende pittoreske vissersdorpje Carnlough voor een snelle comfortabele pauze. De dorpswinkel is een passend einde van uw reis terwijl u de schilderachtige haven inneemt die wordt gebruikt door plezierboten en kleine vissersvaartuigen in een gebied dat rijk is aan zowel zee- als zoetwatervissen. Deze haven, hoewel gebouwd in de negentiende eeuw tijdens de hongersnood, heeft nog steeds een ouderwetse charme, wat betekende dat het niet misplaatst leek toen het voor het eerst verscheen in Game of Thrones.
We reizen langs de Causeway Coastal-route tussen Ballycastle en Dunluce om een van de meest dramatische ritten ter wereld te ervaren, nu beoordeeld als een van 's werelds top 5 van geweldige roadtrips. Er is een wandeling van anderhalve kilometer van de parkeerplaats naar de Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge als u slecht ter been bent, kleine kinderen heeft of een kinderwagen gebruikt die geen onverharde paden aankan. Gewoonlijk 'het 8e wereldwonder' genoemd, is de enige werelderfgoedlocatie in Ierland. Tijdens onze stop hier kun je tijd doorbrengen met klimmen over de oude stenen, foto's maken en nadenken over de mythen en legendes van dit zeer unieke gebied. Toegang tot het bezoekerscentrum is niet bij de prijs inbegrepen. Als u toegang wilt tot het café, de winkel en het bezoekerscentrum, kunt u uw kaartje kopen bij de Giants Causeway en uw kaartje kopen, zodat u het bezoekerscentrum de geschiedenis van het gebied kunt ervaren, inclusief een audiogids om uw ervaring te verbeteren.

Old Bushmills Distillery: Bushmills Whiskey Distillery maakt al sinds 1608 prachtig ‘water des levens’ en is daarmee de oudste nog werkende distilleerderij in Ierland. Bezoek de proefruimte om te proeven.
We vervolgen deze prachtige dag met een fotostop bij de ruïnes van Dunluce Castle.
Een van de meest populaire natuurfenomenen in Noord-Ierland, de Dark Hedges werden gebruikt als decor voor de populaire tv-serie Game of Thrones. Aanbevolen scène: Seizoen 2, Aflevering 1: The North Remembers - Op King's Road is Arya Stark ontsnapt uit King's Landing, vermomd als een jongen. Ze is met Yoren, Gendry, Hot Pie en anderen die zich bij de Nachtwacht zullen voegen, in een kar, die naar het noorden reist over de King's Road. waarom worden ze de Dark Hedges genoemd? De boomgrenzen worden zogenaamd achtervolgd: de Grijze Dame (een verloren geest van een lang verlaten kerkhof) zou in de schemering tussen de bomen verschijnen.

We booked a private day's tour of Northern Ireland with Murat Yilmaz. Despite his name, Murat has lived in NI for 27 years, has an Irish wife and three Irish daughters. He knows the country well and many of the people in it. And it shows! Despite the inclement weather we had a comprehensive introduction to NI, its countryside, history and culture. Nothing was too much trouble for Murat, and he fell in with, then embellished, some of our ideas about what we wanted to see. Murat is a safe driver in an immaculate people carrier. The day was well-worth the money and is highly recommended.

Great day out seeing giants causeway and the coastline

My son, daughter-in-law and I, the mom, were to be in Northern Ireland and knew we wanted to see the Giants Causeway and the northern coast. Since we did not want to drive ourselves we were left with the choice of local buses, tour buses, or a private tour. I emailed two companies offering private tours and chose Belfast Tours NI. The response that I got to my email from the company owner Murat was thoughtful, knowledgeable and included some suggestions as to how to proceed with our then inconclusive itinerary. After a couple more in-depth emails with Murat, I decided that we would go with Belfast Tours NI. The tour itself far surpassed our expectations! Although we had an itinerary, Murat made several added stops along the breathtaking Northern coast. We took beautiful photos and saw spectacular rocky coastlines that we would not have been able to experience on a larger group tour bus. The lunch that Murat suggested at the Causeway Hotel was one of the best we had during our entire trip. We had a delicious starter of hummus, naan and olives, then fish and chips, which had the lightest batter, not oily at all. Fantastic! Although the tour was scheduled to take 8 hours, Murat made several extra stops, just so we could see as much as possible, and our tour was at least 9 hours. The conversation with Murat along the way was insightful, educational, entertaining and sometimes personal. When we said goodbye at the end of the day we felt like we had made a friend. I highly recommend Belfast Tours NI for a Causeway Coast tour. Our experience was priceless 😊.

We had a great time and did 2 tours. The first was the Causeway private day tour which was fantastic. So much to see on the way along the coastal road and enjoyed seeing the lovely towns and learning about the history. The rope bridge and causeway were great. Our second tour was the political tour which was equally as fantastic. We were amazed with the history our guide shared and thoroughly enjoyed the experience from start to finish. Murat was very knowledgeable about the area and has lived there for many years. We appreciated that he was very objective about his comments which was not the case with others such as cab drivers.
