Het Park van Chapultepec is een van de meest bezochte openbare parken ter wereld. Chapultepec Park is twee keer zo groot als Central Park in New York en heeft een enorm landschap. Kom meer te weten over het monument van Niños Héroes, gewijd aan de cadetten die zijn omgekomen tijdens de Amerikaanse interventie in Mexico. Je ziet 6 grote marmeren zuilen met bovenaan een fakkel en daaronder een figuur van een vrouw die een dode cadet vasthoudt en een olijftak, als symbool van vrede.
Tijdens uw bezoek stopt u bij een van de verschillende archeologische vindplaatsen die Chapultepec Park herbergt. Het is een kleine zone met enkele archeologische overblijfselen, waar je gids alles zal uitleggen over wat ze in het verleden waren.
De Canadese totem was een schenking van de Canadese regering aan het Mexicaanse land ter herdenking van de 150ste verjaardag van zijn onafhankelijkheid.
Het Casa de los Pinos, in de volksmond bekend als Los Pinos, was van 1934 tot 2018 de residentie van de president van de Verenigde Mexicaanse Staten. Sindsdien is het een culturele ruimte die open is voor het publiek in het Chapultepec-woud.
De Fuente de la Templanza is versierd met sculpturen die voorzichtigheid, matigheid, rechtvaardigheid en standvastigheid vertegenwoordigen, die vroeger de gevel van het gebouw van de minister van Buitenlandse Betrekkingen sierden.
De Calzada de los Poetas is een weg in het Chapultepec-park gewijd aan in totaal tien dichters en schrijvers, versierd met bronzen bustes van hen.
Het historische monument Baños de Moctezuma werd in de 15e eeuw gebouwd door Nezahualcóyotl tijdens het bewind van Moctezuma en werd door Mexicaanse tlatoanis gebruikt als een plaats van plezier, voor het kweken van exotische vissen, en om water op te slaan uit de bronnen die van de heuvel kwamen. .

Tijdens de rit kun je het Castillo de Chapultepec bewonderen, erkend als het enige echte kasteel in Noord-Amerika en de residentie van het koningshuis, keizer Maximiliaan I en keizerin Carlota. Het wordt ook beschouwd als een museum en een plek vol kunstwerken waar je veel over de geschiedenis van de stad Mexico te weten kunt komen.
Je passeert het Nationaal Antropologisch Museum van Mexico-Stad voordat je je tour beëindigt, het belangrijkste museum op het hele Mexicaanse grondgebied. Het is ontworpen om de archeologische erfenis van de volkeren van Midden-Amerika te huisvesten en tentoon te stellen, en om rekening te houden met de huidige etnische diversiteit van het land.

I was provided an English speaking guide, Alex. We explored zones 1 and 2 of Chapultepec Park by bike. Alex was knowledgeable of the history and gave great recommendations on what else to see in the park and the surrounding area. The bike ride was easily manageable with bare minimum fitness. Highly recommend.

The bicycles were broken and very hard to pedal. The tour operator never texted us the day before like all the other tours do. As a result we didn’t have communications to meet up at the right place. It was frustrating. The tour guide did a nice job, and it was good to be in the park early. One last thing. The first stop on the tour after we got started was on an overpass over a big highway with very loud cars and lots of fumes. They should skip this stop. We just wanted to get in the park for peace and quiet and clean air while the guide told us about when they built the highway. Who cares?

Bosque de Chapultepec is massive; the bike tour was the perfect way to see more of it and learn more than we would have on our own. The information on this tour helped us decide what parts of the park to visit by ourselves in the afternoon. It was a very peaceful morning biking through the quiet and shady park, stopping here and there to learn about the sights and history of the park. I recommend starting a Chapultepec day with this tour and then planning to stick around to see more of it. We also planned this for near the end of our trip so we wouldn't have any issues with the altitude, but the biking is chill and not intense - I think we would have been fine from day one.

The tour was great. It started on time at 8:30. Which is a great time to ride through the park. No traffic and nice temperature. Yair was our guide. he was great. Very knowledgeable about the history of the park , the statues and their significance in Mexican history. The pace was perfect for my husband and I who are in our mid 60’s. Yair’s English is perfect. Definetly recommend the tour.
