Opgericht in 1772, werd dit huis beroemd dankzij mevrouw Barbe-Nicole Clicquot-Ponsardin. Kom meer te weten over deze visionaire jonge weduwe die "la Grande Dame van de Champagnestreek" werd. Geniet van een rondleiding door de indrukwekkende krijtkelders, eindigend met een champagneproeverij van 4 glazen champagne.
Stop bij de Cathédrale Notre Dame de Reims, waar de koningen van Frankrijk werden gekroond. Notre-Dame de Reims, opgenomen op de Werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO, is een van Europa's belangrijkste gotische bouwwerken.
Op weg naar Epernay stoppen we bij de benedictijnenabdij in het charmante heuveldorpje Hautvillers. De prestigieuze Dom Perignon, Geestelijke Vader van de Champagnewijn, ligt er begraven.
Epernay staat internationaal bekend als de "Hoofdstad van de Champagne". Ontdek de prachtige hoofdstraat met hun weelderige herenhuizen met enkele van de beroemdste 'Maisons de Champagne', zoals De Castellane, Moet & Chanson, Perrier-Jouët, Pol Roger, Mercier, enz.
Moet & Chandon is het eerste internationale merk ter wereld. Opgericht in 1743 door Claude Möet, is de geschiedenis verbonden met enkele beroemde figuren zoals de markiezin de Pompadour of Napoleon 1st. Geniet van een rondleiding door hun kelders die eindigen met een champagneproeverij van 2 glazen champagne.

Radamus was an excellent guide. He was both knowledgeable and punctual. The best part was the visit to the small producer and the drive to Eperney. The big houses are great for history and scale but there are a lot of other interesting options and Radamus helped to open our eyes to that.
