Borobudur is de grootste boeddhistische tempel ter wereld, een 9e-eeuwse Mahayana-boeddhistische tempel in Midden-Java, Indonesië, valt om verschillende redenen op. Het is gebouwd van grijs andesietachtig gesteente en heeft negen gestapelde platforms, zes vierkante en drie cirkelvormige, bekroond door een centrale koepel. De tempel is versierd met een verbazingwekkende 2.672 reliëfpanelen en herbergde oorspronkelijk 504 Boeddhabeelden. Terwijl u het uitgebreide systeem van trappen en gangen verkent, komt u 1.460 verhalende reliëfpanelen tegen die de leringen en het leven van de Boeddha uitbeelden
(Optioneel) Bezoek Mount Merapi, de op één na meest actieve vulkaan ter wereld. We bezoeken een lokaal museum dat de overblijfselen van de uitbarsting van 2010 tentoonstelt, de grootste uitbarsting sinds 1872. Daarnaast zien we een gigantische rots die is gevormd door de uitbarsting en die lijkt op een menselijk gezicht, die we de 'alien stone' noemen. Er is nog veel meer te zien
U bezoekt en ziet de Prambanan-tempel, een van de erfgoedlocaties in Indonesië als de hoogste hindoetempel en de mooiste tempel in Indonesië. In de omgeving kunt u niet alleen de Prambanan-tempel zien, maar ook de Lumbung-tempel, de Bubrah-tempel en de Sewu-tempel.

We had an excellent service provided today. We had a custom tour starting from Borobudur at 4am, Sethumbu lookout, then to 2 other temples in the area, Merapi Jeep ride, Prambanan and dropping us at our Yogyakarta hotel. Our driver Joko was excellent, safe and was good company through the tour and arranged the time well and took us to an excellent restaurant near Prambanan. I would recommend them without any doubt! You will be in safe hands with these guys.

We had an amazing experience with Joko as our driver. He took us to the Royal Ballet, and the highlight of our trip was definitely Borobudur Sunrise via Manohara. It was absolutely incredible, a small group experience with a knowledgeable guide who led us to the best spot on Borobudur Temple for sunrise. He explained the history and meaning behind each level of the temple, and even helped us capture some great photos. Afterwards, we enjoyed an unforgettable breakfast buffet on Nagi Hill, overlooking the temple. The view was breathtaking, it really put into perspective the vast scale and beauty of Borobudur. Later, Joko drove us to Prambanan Temple, about an hour and a half away. He’s a very safe and considerate driver, and his car was so comfortable that we managed to have a quick nap along the way. Once we arrived, he helped us purchase tickets and made sure we were all set with a local guide. The guide was excellent, full of knowledge about the stonework, restoration process, and the temple’s rich history. This was truly an unforgettable experience, and we couldn’t recommend Joko enough. If you book a tour with him, you’re guaranteed a magical time. Oh, and you can’t miss his car, a distinctive Chevy that stands out among the crowd of Toyotas!
