Hey bierliefhebbers! Welkom bij de ultieme bierervaring in Antwerpen! België is wereldberoemd vanwege zijn unieke biercultuur, zo uitzonderlijk zelfs dat het wordt erkend als UNESCO-werelderfgoed. Ga met mij, Erwin, gediplomeerd bierexpert, mee op tour langs de mooiste bars van Antwerpen. Je proeft enkele van de beste bieren ter wereld, terwijl ik fascinerende verhalen en inzichten over elk brouwsel deel. Dit is niet zomaar een kroegentocht; het is een reis door de rijke traditie, diversiteit en kwaliteit van Belgisch bier. We bezoeken topbars en proeven zes uitzonderlijke bieren in kleine proefglaasjes (15cl/4oz per bier). Ik stem mijn aanbevelingen af op uw persoonlijke voorkeuren, zodat u het meeste uit elke slok haalt. In times of Corona, physical tour was replaced by a fun interactive online experience. Creative way to let us enjoy their extensive beer knowledge.
Our visit could not proceed because of government imposed confinement measures relating to Covid-19. Taste the City organised an online beer tasting instead! It was really excellent and we learned a great deal.

Guided by our guide Luc fantastic along 5 cozy cafes with an interesting explanation about an Antwerp beer everywhere. Luc was easily reached by phone beforehand so we could move the tour at the last minute for another half hour. During the tour he was open to wishes from our group. With 11 friends we enjoyed the tour full of humor and nice pints.
I spent a very enjoyable afternoon in the company of Johan, my guide, tasting beers and learning about Antwerp. Although there was a larger tour being given in Dutch, I was the only one on the English language tour so it was more like a pub crawl with a friend. Tour started at a beer shop near the cathedral so it was easy to find. We started with a champagne style beer which was very refreshing, unfortunately it only came in a 75cl bottle, so what could we do but finish it? we headed to the next cafe/pub for a blonde and as we walked Johan pointed out sights that I would have missed without his company. The tour was a walking tour of the old part of the city, learning about its history and stopping for a different style of beer, with full explanation of the differences. I had been given the option to cancel as I was the only one who had booked the English language tour that day, was I ever glad that I didn't take up the offer? This is a really good tour, I highly recommend it.

Great authentic beer. And a really friendly, enthusiastic guide... I think his name was Erwin, was very attentive and made the experience truly enjoyable. Feel like I have a deeper understanding of Belgium beers too.
