Het beroemde meer van Rio in de buurt van het strand van Ipanema, op weg naar het Christusbeeld
Christusbeeld per trein. Sla de wachtrij over met vooraf geplande treinkaartjes die bij de prijs zijn inbegrepen. De 2,5 mijl lange spoorlijn werd op 9 oktober 1884 geopend door keizer Dom Pedro II van Brazilië. Aanvankelijk getrokken door stoomlocomotieven, werd de lijn in 1910 geëlektrificeerd, de eerste in Brazilië. Het werd in 1980 opnieuw uitgerust met treinen gebouwd door Swiss Locomotive and Machine Works (SLM). Berijd de Cosme Velho Station Cog Train door het dichte en weelderige Tijuca Forest National Park (een groen heiligdom met een oppervlakte van 47 vierkante mijl) helemaal naar de top van de Corcovado-heuvel en de basis van het Christusbeeld, waar je wordt verleend met het mooiste uitzicht op de prachtige stad. Het bezoek duurt ca. 1 uur.
De Selarón-trap is een architectonisch werk gelegen tussen de wijken Santa Teresa en Lapa, gedecoreerd door de Chileense kunstenaar Jorge Selarón, lange tijd geworteld in Brazilië, met tegels uit de vier hoeken van de planeet, geschonken door toeristen die Rio bezoeken. Selaron verklaarde dat zijn werk een eerbetoon is aan het Braziliaanse volk.
De authentieke en Boheemse wijk Santa Teresa, bekend als het artistieke hart van Rio, was ooit de thuisbasis van de rijken en beroemdheden van de stad. Toen Copacabana in de 19e eeuw onbewoonbaar was, koos de rijke elite van Rio de Janeiro voor de Santa Tereza-heuvel vanwege de nabijheid van het stadscentrum, het prachtige uitzicht en de frissere koelere lucht. De geplaveide straten van Santa Teresa zijn bezaaid met oude herenhuizen (sommige zijn gerenoveerd) en functioneren tegenwoordig als ateliers voor kunstenaars, ambachtelijke winkels, restaurants en pensions. Het bezoek duurt ca. 50 minuten. Na Santa Tereza gaat de Tour verder naar een van de beste en meest luxe barbecueplaatsen in Brazilië, FOGO DE CHÃO, All you can eat Authentieke Braziliaanse barbecue in Rodízio-stijl, gelegen in Botafogo met prachtig uitzicht op de baai van Guanabara. Lunch is inbegrepen, maar drankjes en desserts niet.
De tour gaat langs Flamengo Park op weg van Santa Tereza naar Fogo de Chão All you can Authentieke Braziliaanse barbecue die bij de Tour is inbegrepen, behalve drankjes en desserts.

Na Luch in Fogo de Chão gaat de Tour verder naar de Suikerbroodberg. Berijd de wereldberoemde kabelbanen in twee stappen, helemaal naar de top van de Urca-heuvel, 215 meter hoog. Het natuurmonument is een complex van heuvels in de wijk Urca. Het omvat Sugarloaf Mountain en Urca Hill De belangrijkste attractie is de rit met de kabelbaan, die Praia Vermelha, Urca Hill en Sugarloaf Hill met elkaar verbindt. Bekend als de Sugarloaf-kabelbaan, die in 1908 werd ontworpen en in 1912 werd ingehuldigd, en werd de eerste kabelbaan die in het land werd geïnstalleerd en de derde ter wereld. In deze meer dan honderd jaar van haar bestaan heeft het meer dan veertig miljoen mensen vervoerd. De Suikerbroodberg en het natuurmonument Urca Hill beslaan een oppervlakte van 91,5 hectare. Tot de attracties in de omgeving behoren, naast de kabelbaan, het Claudio Coutinho-pad voor hardlopen of wandelen, de Urca Hill-paden met uitzicht op Corcovado, Copacabana, Botafogo en Guanabara Bay, en vele klimroutes.

Copacabana is het beroemdste strand van Zuid-Amerika, bekend om zijn halvemaanvormige strand, Copacabana is een van de levendigste wijken in Rio. Het trekt inwoners en toeristen aan voor non-stop activiteiten op het zand en op de ontworpen promenade. Tussen de wolkenkrabbers die uitkijken over het strand, bevindt zich het Copacabana Palace-hotel in art-decostijl en het weelderige Copacabana-fort, dat een militair museum herbergt.

Hands down best service and meticulous planning! I booked the carnival itineray for my 2 elderly Chinese parents with limited english skills, they had the once-in-a-lifetime seamless smooth experience! Marcelo is prompt with response, and knowledgeable and give me the best advice to optimize trip for my budget. They got the best seats in carnival we didn't think it would be possible. Best hotel location with discount to experience the festival with ease! Saved so much money and hassle through a professional! Absolutely recommend him over and over!!

I was at first nervous since I had never used Dobrazilright tours. But Marcelo was so courteous and was so fast in answering all my emails. Their price was so decent and it was an A+ tour. We worked with Marcelo a few months before our arrival and he suggested a 2 day itinerary for a private tour for 2 people that included all the key attractions and lunch was included on both days. As it was Carnaval season, we got to ‘attend’ a street party as well as experience this vibrant city during this peak season. Our guide, Danilo was excellent and provided a lot of knowledge and insight into the places we visited. The fast track pass for the Sugar Loaf mountain and Christ the Redeemer were a godsend as there were long queues at both. The unexpected highlight of the 2 days was a visit to The Maze, Bob Nadkarni, BBC correspondent settled in this Favela 30 years ago and created a beautiful home with mosaics. I would highly recommend DoBrazilRight.

What an amazing experience we had doing a 2 day Rio de Janerio tour and a 1 day Fortaleza tour with our expectations being totally exceeded at every level. The (local) guides spoke fluent English and were extremely knowledgeable of the areas we were visiting. The bus drivers were great with navigating traffic and ensuring we were dropped off close to places being visited. The tour itineraries covered all we wanted to see plus more. Outstanding! Marcelo was terrific! He was very communicative and extremely helpful. We did the day and half tour of Rio first. Great trips on the cable car and to Christ the Redeemer, with tickets provided. Delicious lunch! Then Carnaval at the Sambadrome. It is impossible to describe the experience--such color, singing and dancing, such excitement! One of the best experiences imaginable! Marcelo recommended our seats--they were at eye level with the performers. One blew kisses at me! The transportation arrangements were very good. I was initially concerned about safety, but we were very safe getting there, and we felt quite safe in the Sambadrome. We were very pleased with Marcelo and highly recommend using him if you are going to Brazil.
Highly recommend DoBrazilRight and Marcelo as your travel agent. It was our first time to South American and being there during Carnival was a bucket list trip for us. It was also our first time using a travel agent so were a bit nervous but Marcelo made the whole process easy and stress free. He kept us informed and was very quick to respond to all of our emails. We did the 8-hr day tour of the Christ the Redeemer, Sugar Loaf Mountain, Selaron Stairway and the Cinelandia Square with lunch at Fogo De Chao restaurant. Renato was our tour guide and he was excellent. If you're there in Rio to see these sights, definitely spring for the 8-hr with lunch vs the 6-hr. On top of the fact that you're eating at the one of the most well known steakhouses in Rio, it was also nice to sit down for a bit between sites. Renato also made us a reservation at Restaurant Marius Degustare. It was right next door to our hotel and was like nothing we've ever seen before. It is a must visit! And, of course, the highlight of the trip was the parade at the Sambadrome. To see it in person is so much more incredible than I could ever describe. Whichever tour you decide to go on or whatever activity you want to do, DoBrazilRight is who you need to use. Marcelo and Renato and the whole DoBrazilRight staff planned and executed about as perfect of a trip as we could have hoped for.
