Essaouira is een charmante kuststad in het westen van Marokko, bekend om zijn goed bewaarde historische medina, prachtige stranden en levendige kunstscene. De medina van de stad is een UNESCO-werelderfgoedlocatie, beroemd om zijn smalle straatjes, witgekalkte gebouwen met blauwe luiken en bruisende souks. De historische wallen en vestingwerken, gebouwd door de Portugezen in de 18e eeuw, bieden een panoramisch uitzicht op de Atlantische Oceaan.

Een van onze chauffeurs haalt u op bij uw accommodatie in Marrakech voor een rit van ongeveer 3 uur naar het charmante kustplaatsje Essaouira, voorheen bekend als Mogador. Essaouira is door UNESCO uitgeroepen tot de mooiste stad van Marokko.
Na aankomst in Essaouira wordt u opgewacht door onze lokale deskundige gids voor een prachtige rondleiding door de stad. U bezoekt het Skala-fort, ziet de prachtige kanonnen en ziet valken en meeuwen zweven boven het natuurreservaat op de Purpuraires-eilanden. Ten noorden van de Skala kunt u surfers, windsurfers en kitesurfers zien die allemaal de golven temmen. Vraag uw gids om u de vele plekken in Essaouira te laten zien die in films zijn vereeuwigd. Uw gids neemt u mee naar de vissershaven met zijn bruisende vismarkt en door de medina, waar u meer leert over de fascinerende geschiedenis van de stad en veel ambachtslieden aan het werk ziet, waaronder de Thuya (een lokale houtsnijders).

De vissershaven in Essaouira is een van de meest levendige en pittoreske gebieden van de stad. Lokaal bekend als "Port d'Essaouira", is het een bruisende hub waar u traditionele houten vissersboten, bekend als "blauwe boten" vanwege hun kenmerkende kleur, kunt zien aanmeren en worden gelost. De haven is een integraal onderdeel van de lokale economie en cultuur, en het is fascinerend om de dagelijkse activiteiten te bekijken, van vissers die hun vangst binnenbrengen tot de drukke vismarkt.
Het gebied rond de haven is bezaaid met visrestaurants die vers gevangen vis en schelpdieren serveren. Het is een geweldige plek om lokale specialiteiten te proeven, zoals gegrilde sardines of zeevruchtentajine, terwijl u geniet van het uitzicht op de oceaan en de historische wallen van Essaouira. 's Middags gaan we terug naar Marrakech.

Wow! What an amazing experience!
The drivers that we had were great, cars were very clean, always punctual, constantly gave us cold water bottles and were friendly and courteous!
The tour guides that we had in Tangier, Fez and Marrakech and Imlel were all locals giving us an authentic experience. They were all extremely knowledgeable and friendly! They’re great photographers too!!
I cantwait to come back to Morocco and tour the other cities that I didn’t get to on this trip, definitely with Morocco Meta Adventures!!! I highly recommend them!!

Outstanding service with a smile

Ourika Mountain/ valley tour
Hamid was exceptional as our guide. He would always inform us about Berber lifestyle and agriculture and mountain life.stoping to let us take photos was a plus!

Budget friendly trip

Best trip with Hamid
We had the honour of using Hamid concierge service and having him as our driver and guide. He made us our own personalised itinerary perfect for our children! He was so kind and generous always giving us cushions and water and making sure our safety and comfort was always met. He was so caring and thoughtful and drove perfectly! It was so easy planning the trip with Hamid. I told him where I wanted to go and what I wanted to see and he made us the perfect 3 days! We will miss Hamid! Please visit us in london! Day trip from Marrakech
We booked this tour not knowing what to expect, as it happened it was the best day of our trip.
Hamid picked us up from our Riad, he was on time, friendly and very professional..
The car was very comfortable and Hamid gave us a lot of information about the area, the history…….
In Essouira he gave us a choice of options and we met him later for lunch, he took us to the fish market for lunch. We had the most delicious lunch.
I highly recommend This day trip. Money well spent.
