Op slechts 10 minuten met de tram van het centrum van de stad was deze rustige plek ooit een koninklijke zetel en later een machtig barok fort. Tegenwoordig is het een symbolische en mysterieuze plek die geliefd is bij de lokale bevolking. Tijdens deze 2,5 uur durende tour met kleine groepen, begeleid door een gepassioneerde lokale expert, bezoek je de adembenemende Basiliek van St. Peter en St. Paul, de 11e-eeuwse Rotunda van St. Martin, de Tsjechische Nationale Begraafplaats en de mythische Duivelszuil. Leer over prinses Libuše en haar voorspelling van Praag: “Ik zie een grote stad waarvan de glorie op een dag de sterren zal raken.” Geniet van een panoramisch uitzicht op de rivier de Moldau en de Nieuwe Stad en geniet van een ontspannen pauze in een lokaal café of biertuin - uw koffie, wijn, bier of frisdrank is inbegrepen. Ontdek Vysehrad fort - op slechts 10 minuten van het centrum van de stad, deze rustige heuveltop site zit vol met geschiedenis, legendes en een prachtig uitzicht.
Sinds het einde van de 19e / begin van de 20e eeuw werd Vysehrad opnieuw aangepast aan het groene parkgebied van vandaag waar de lokale bevolking graag komt om te ontspannen en rust te vinden.
Bezoek de Tsjechische Nationale Begraafplaats, laatste rustplaats van culturele reuzen als Dvořák, Smetana en Mucha, of het heldhaftige slachtoffer van het communistische regime Milada Horakova.
We wandelen langs de barokke vestingmuren om te genieten van een panoramisch uitzicht over de rivier de Moldau, de Praagse Burcht en andere Praagse wijken.
Betreed de majestueuze neogotische Basiliek van Sint-Petrus en Sint-Paulus, inclusief toegang tot het buitengewone Art Nouveau-interieur, versierd met fresco's geïnspireerd door Alfons Mucha.
Bekijk de 11e-eeuwse Rotunda van Sint Maarten, de oudste nog bestaande kerk van Praag.

- Let op - er is een solide set van trappen om te lopen naar Vysehrad, de rest is meestal vlak oppervlak lopen en naar beneden trappen. We lopen ongeveer 3,5 km, het activiteitsniveau voor deze ervaring is Matig.
- Let op - deze tour eindigt bij "Vyton" tramhalte, zeer gemakkelijk om terug te keren naar het ontmoetingspunt.
- ❗️Om een vlotte ervaring voor iedereen te garanderen, gelieve minstens 10 minuten voor de geplande start aanwezig te zijn op het verzamelpunt. Late aankomsten creëren verwarring en het kan zijn dat het achteraf niet mogelijk is om de groep te lokaliseren. *Houd er rekening mee dat late aankomsten niet worden terugbetaald.
- Let op - verwacht geen chique kasteelzalen en interieurs - Vysehrad was vroeger een middeleeuws kasteel, later herbouwd tot een barokke vesting

Visiting the Vyserhad castle was an amazing experience , was more of a hidden gem with a lot of history. It was a fresh gem compared to the other places with crowded tourists. The guide Josef was extremely knowledgeable and passionate, he went beyond and answered many of our curious questions around Prague and history of Prague. He was there to pick us up at the assigned location and dropped us back to our desired location as well, despite us braving one of the hottest afternoon together :) Very genuine and extremely friendly! Would recommend him 10/10 for anyone taking guided tours.
George was great. Loved the pacing, the information, the history, and just the overall experience was excellent. My wife and I loved it, and we can’t recommend this Vyšehrad tour with George enough. Thanks again!

The Vyšehrad Fortress is great experience if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the old town. Johanna the guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, personable and gave great insight into the history of the fortress. Highly recommended if you are looking for additional things do in Prague outside of the main attractions.
Fascinating tour to a lesser known site. The history is remarkable, and David (with his history background) conveyed a wealth of knowledge. Stunning views from the overlook. If you want to do something interesting but off the beaten path, look no further.

This was a fantastic way to see a different part of Prague, away from the crowds. Our guide, Johana, made learning about the history interesting; and was more than happy to help us understand modern life in Prague, too. Riding the tram to a nearby area and walking up the steps could be challenging for some, but we looked on it as part of the adventure.
