What a lovely tour to do. Chilled out and didn't feel rushed. Well worth booking to see Porto from the river and a magical sunset.
Gorgeous sunset views!All staff that we met were great and our skipper was very knowledgeable. Snacks and drinks provided. Lovely intimate setting compared to some of the other boats!Blankets provided if you got a little chilly. One of our highlights of our time in the beautiful Porto!
Incredible experience - I couldn’t recommend this more highly. The Douro Captain team are really friendly and accommodating. I booked through Get your guide, which unfortunately messed up my booking, so that my reservation didn’t go through. But not to worry, the team at Douro Captain were incredibly accommodating, they let me and my family go on our tour and sort out the booking afterwards. The team were very friendly and made a massive effort to chat with us individually and get to know us. They were very attentive to my children, especially my 11 year old son who they let help with the boat. He felt really special! The boat was very smart and clean and luxurious. The drinks included with the trip were of a very high standard and very delicious. The guides both went above and beyond to make sure we had an incredible time, taking photos of us and making sure we got the most out of the experience. The boat ride route was lovely, taking in Porto and also going out to sea - which was very exciting. This trip felt like amazingly good value for the quality of the boat, service and experience. Really good communication from the trip organiser about the meeting place and departure information. The captain and guide were friendly and helpful, giving information about Porto and the areas we passed on the cruise. We received a welcome drink and enjoyed this as we relaxed and watched Porto go by. We chose an afternoon trip and this was an excellent way to enjoy Porto in the heat of the day.
We booked the 11am slot based on our itinerary. Turns out that time isn’t popular, so my wife and I ended up with a private tour, just the two of us. Best decision we made on the trip. The weather was perfect. The captain was fantastic. The staff took great care of us the whole time and answered every question we had. This is an incredible value. Skip the big corporate boats. They’re shorter and you lose all the personal attention. This is worth every penny. Book it.
