Ontdek de ziel van Porto en Gaia tijdens een historische wandeltocht We beginnen dit avontuur op het plein van Hendrik de Zeevaarder, de illustere zoon van Porto en sleutelfiguur van het Tijdperk der Ontdekkingen. Vanuit zijn geboorteplaats reizen we terug in de tijd om te begrijpen hoe dit kleine land de vier uithoeken van de wereld bereikte. We wandelen door de oude stad en verkennen smalle straatjes, trappen en verborgen juweeltjes in Barredo en Ribeira, de oudste en meest authentieke wijken van de stad. We zullen het hebben over het middeleeuwse Porto, zijn muren, zijn gebruiken en de machtige rivier de Douro die het allemaal tot leven bracht. Oversteken naar Gaia, zullen we genieten van een van de beste uitzichten op de rivier en de stad, terwijl we de fascinerende geschiedenis van de port delen (bezoek aan de wijngaard niet inbegrepen). Onderweg krijg je lokale tips over waar je kunt eten, drinken en blijven genieten van Porto als een echte kenner. Meer dan een rondleiding - een wandeling vol verhalen, bezienswaardigheden en gevoelens.

We steken deze rivier te voet over terwijl we blijven genieten van de prachtige omgeving.
Ontdek de geboorteplaats van Portwijn en zijn iconische kelders, waar elke fles een verhaal vertelt van eeuwenoude traditie.

Spent 4 days fun packed, walking tour very informative and interesting, the guide made our 2 hour walking tour giving a good insight of Porto very enjoyable. The boat trip with a different guide was also very enjoyable.

I was blown away by this tour! It was a great surprise and a real treat to visit 2 cities and get a feel for them in just one tour. I wouldn't have discovered half of what I did in Gaia if I was on my own. Highly recommended! We loved it so much that we sent some friends along too.

Our guide Sofia was the best thing about this tour- former architect, she had a lot of interesting background to share, especially on the Oporto side. She is cute as a button and her English is great. She answered lots of questions with a smile. We are disappointed in the tour because we paid more than a typical walking tour to include a 15 minute boat trip on the Duoro. This is very misleading advertising because they only plan a water taxi, not a boat tour. Unfortunately for us, the water taxi was not running. Instead of switching to one of the many boat tours available, we just reversed course to walk over the bridge to Gaia. It was not difficult for us, just disappointing because we were looking forward to the advertised boat tour. The tour ends at one of the port cellars, but not one that we would recommend- it was tiny and dark, tasting only for an extra charge. Luckily we able to luck into a tasting at Graham’s, which we highly recommend.
Susana was friendly, knowledgeable, upbeat, and her pride in her city is evident. She enjoyed teaching our group things and introducing us to new areas. We wish we had time to drink some Porto with you!

Super cool tour! Found some hidden spots in Porto and Gaia that I would have never found otherwise and the guide was super friendly and approachable! Super knowledgeable too! Definitely recommend the tour if you wanna get to know Porto and Gaia in a proper and fun way.
