Bij aankomst in Sabrosa beginnen we aan ons eerste bezoek van de dag. Hier verkent u de eerste van twee wijnhuizen, waar u meer te weten komt over het wijnbereidingsproces en de rijke geschiedenis van de Douro-regio en zijn beroemde wijnen. Voor de lunch heeft u de mogelijkheid om een verscheidenheid aan wijnen te proeven. Ter afsluiting van het bezoek wordt een volledige traditionele Portugese lunch geserveerd — inclusief een voorgerecht, hoofdgerecht, dessert en perfect bij elkaar passende rode of witte Douro-wijn.
Na de lunch maken we een schilderachtige rit langs de kronkelende wegen van de Dourovallei, waar elke bocht een nieuw ansichtkaartwaardig uitzicht onthult op terrasvormige wijngaarden, glooiende heuvels en de glinsterende rivier beneden. Op weg naar Pinhão stoppen we bij een van de meest adembenemende uitzichtpunten in de regio. Vanaf deze verhoogde plek heb je een panoramisch uitzicht op de dramatische landschappen van de vallei - een perfecte gelegenheid om prachtige foto's te maken en de schoonheid van de Douro te delen met vrienden en collega's.
Het is tijd om uit te varen! Geniet van een 45 minuten durende schilderachtige cruise langs de rivier de Douro, vertrekkend vanuit het charmante dorpje Pinhão. Stap aan boord van een traditionele 'Rabelo'-boot - ooit gebruikt om wijnvaten te vervoeren - en geniet van het prachtige uitzicht op terrasvormige wijngaarden, glooiende heuvels en historische landgoederen langs de rivieroevers.
Nationale weg 222: Rijd over een van 's werelds mooiste wegen Wist je dat een van de mooiste wegen ter wereld hier in Portugal ligt? De iconische National Road 222 slingert door het hart van de Dourovallei en biedt een adembenemend uitzicht op wijngaarden, bergen en de rivier eronder. Tijdens onze tour reizen we langs deze onvergetelijke route, waarbij we de meest pittoreske stukken benadrukken en stoppen bij belangrijke uitzichtpunten, zodat u de schoonheid van de regio volledig kunt waarderen.
Maar de wijnreis is nog niet voorbij! Er is nog tijd voor een laatste bezoek aan een gerenommeerde wijnmakerij in de regio. Een deskundige lokale gids leidt u door het landgoed en deelt inzichten in het wijnbereidingsproces - van de wijngaard tot de fles. De ervaring wordt afgesloten met een memorabele proeverij van drie verschillende wijnen, elk met het unieke karakter van de Douro.

The pickup spot was easy to find, Maru and Fabiano gave us a great tour in a perfect vehicle. They were very knowledgeable on everything wine and Porto, which made our experience even better. The lunch was incredible after sampling and learning about the Douro Valley wineries and cruising the river.

Maria Maributo took us through the guided 10 hour tour of Douro Valley. She is exceptional. Her knowledge of the region, and the wineries is limitless. She personally introduced us to the owners and managers of each venue. We toured through two wineries, Castelares and Quinta de Santa Eufémia (A 12 th generation family winery). Beautiful scenery, wine, and most important beautiful people. Wine, honey, and Port wine tasting at each stop. Lunch was provided at an old 1 room schoolhouse turned restaurant. Excellent meal with desert as well. There is a stop midway for a one hour cruise up and back on the Douro where you can see what makes this valley so special. Highly recommend Maria. A very special person for a beautiful full day tour.
