Porto : Douro rivier Boottocht onder de 6 bruggen

We had planned a lovely family trip with my parents who were celebrating their 80th birthdays and my sisters (we are all in our 40s and 50s). However, this took a sharp turn of events when our captain, Adriano and guide, Alfonso, became real life hero’s saving a women whose car had fallen into the river from a 4 meter drop about 50 meters from the dock, just as we were about to set off. They didn’t think twice, in going to help and worked together to save her after she got out of the car and made it to the surface. After talking to the police when we knew she was safe they offered a refund, but we also didn’t feel ready to get off the boat. After checking they were okay we all agreed that we would take the trip. So, it was different to what we had planned, but it was good to be with them and check that everyone was okay. These are two men that I will never forget for all the right reasons.

Adriano and Afonso were amazing yesterday. We had just all got into the boat, when they had to respond to an emergency in the river - taking us with them in the boat to the emergency situation as there was no time to spare. They deserve an award for their actions responding to the emergency ! Afterwards they then offered to take us on the tour - we said that given the stress of the emergency situation they did not need to, but they both said that they would. They gave us a great tour - pointing out all the interesting sights and telling us the history of the bridges. They must have still been extremely stressed after the emergency but they hid it well - thank you both !

Amazing experience with our tour guide Lucas and boat captain Adriano (Cristiano Ronaldo!!). Very fun experience with plenty of knowledge about the different Porto bridges as well as the wine cellars and the processes of making authentic Port wine. Would highly recommend this intimate tour over the big popular tours which are usually overcrowded. Lucas recommended a pastel del Nata place to us in town (Manteigaria) which lived up to the expectations of the best pastel del nata in Porto! My friend and I took the 7:00 PM cruise on a Monday evening and had a five-star experience. Lucas and Adriano made the tour! The boat is small and intimate, with a maximum of around eight guests, and there were only four of us on board, which made it feel like a private cruise. It was much more personal than the larger tourist boats on the river. Lucas was great: charismatic, knowledgeable, and genuinely engaging. His English was excellent, and he shared running commentary on Porto’s bridges, history, and culture, along with great local recommendations, including Portuguese musicians to listen to and places to visit. He also made sure everyone had the chance to capture the best photos and videos —a thoughtful touch. For his part, Adriano kept everything running smoothly as an experienced and confident captain. Together, they created a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that felt more like an evening out with locals than a formal tour. We were served white and red port wine along with traditional Portuguese cookies, which added a lovely local touch. The evening started hazy and cloudy, but the skies cleared just in time for a beautiful sunset over the Douro River on our return! Highly recommend this cruise if you want a small-group, personal, and memorable way to experience Porto from the water. Take this tour if you want a less commercial, local touch and you like supporting a new business.

The small group experience was very lovely! We got to learn about the different bridges but the best part was the fun and chill vibe throughout the entire river cruise. The free wine was also very delicious. This ended up being one of our favorite parts of the trip! Compared to other small group boat tours as well, the dock area is very easy to get to via a cheap Bolt ride or via public bus from the downtown area of Porto.

Perfect amount of time. Very friendly crew and really informative. Took the time to explain the area and history of all the bridges. Offered to take pictures and supplied blankets as it was a little breezy. Would recommend for sure.

Great experience, had a private boat tour as we were the only ones booked. Luis and Adrian were both great and informative with the tour overall having a great vibe. They even gave us more recommendations around the city which have proved to also be great. I would highly recommend this over the other tours!

We saw several of the larger boat operators but opted for this more intimate experience. It did not not disappoint. Great activity and experience for our family of four. Highly recommend.

A really enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours. The boat was clean and felt very safe . The crew were very knowledgeable and keen to help. I am really pleased we decided on a smaller boat , as I feel we had a more personable service.

I chose this particular opportunity because it is limited in size and yet gives plenty of time for the same experience that others do in half the time. And we saw why. Other boats were speeding quickly by to simply see the six bridges quickly and then speed back. We actually had time to chat with the owner/operator about the area, experiences and recommendations, and of course the bridges and their history. It was well worth the personal experience.
