De toekenning van "Beste Europese Bestemming", toegekend in 2012, 2014 en 2017, geeft Porto het hoogtepunt omdat het de enige stad in Europa is die deze overwinning drie keer heeft behaald. Als we de prijs van "Beste vakantiebestemming" uit 2013 toevoegen, krijgen we genoeg motieven om te bezoeken en de redenen achter deze prijzen te controleren. Verken het Batalha-plein, de Santa Catarina-straat, het Majestic Café, de Bolhão-markt en de Aliados Avenue in het historische centrum dat op de Werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO staat. Bezoek het treinstation S. Bento en de Se-kathedraal, deze laatste uit de 12e eeuw. Bekijk de Clérigos-kerk, een meesterwerk van architect Nasoni, met zijn klassieke renaissancestijl en bekijk de neogotische gevel van de boekhandel Lello. Welkom in Porto !! Op de aangegeven tijd en plaats zal onze privégids er zijn om u te verwelkomen in Porto en u de ongelooflijke locaties van deze een van de oudste steden van Europa laten zien. Deze privé stadstour van een halve dag door de stad Porto wordt begeleid door een deskundige gids die je door het historische centrum leidt en uitleg geeft over de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden en je naar een bekende Port-wijnkelder in Gaia brengt voor een rondleiding bezoek (gedeeld met andere passagiers) inclusief een proeverij van verschillende havenwijnen.
Aftredend met het vervoer, neemt je privégids je mee naar het beroemde treinstation São Bento om de ongelooflijke lobby te bewonderen vol titels met een weergave van de Portugese geschiedenis door de eeuwen heen.
Een andere stop is bij de ingang van de kathedraal van Porto. Dit ongelooflijke gebouw is gedateerd als een van de oudste in de stad en bevindt zich in de geboorteplaats van de stad. Vanaf die locatie kunt u het historische stadscentrum, de rivier de Douro en de zuidelijke oever van de rivier en de wijnlodges zien.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Tour with Kiko in Porto! We had an amazing experience exploring Porto with Kiko as our tour guide. He shared the rich history of the city in a way that was both informative and engaging. During the tour, he guided us through many of Porto's highlights, including the Metro system, beautiful churches, and a wonderful visit to Fonseca for a Porto wine tasting. Kiko was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and polite throughout the entire tour. Our group consisted of six people, and he effortlessly guided us in both English and Portuguese, making everyone feel included and comfortable. He was fun to talk to and always happy to answer questions and share interesting facts about Porto and its culture. His passion for the city truly showed, and it made our visit even more memorable. We did this private tour with Bernard With Living Tours. The weather was rainy and cold, but we had an enjoyable time. Bernard was very knowledgeable and gave us some unique insights about Porto and the Portuguese culture. We did a driving tour around the city first to get our bearings, including the beach. We then did a walking tour including the train station which is a must see. We ended the tour in Gaia with a port wine tasting at Fonseca. Be prepared for hills, lots of walking, wear layers. A great time and hopefully you will have Bernard as a guide, he is excellent!

We had a great 4 hour private tour of Porto with Rui from Living Private Tours. The guide picked us up at the port where our Celebrity cruise docked. He showed us the landmarks of the city, taking photos along the way and then took us to Fonseca for a tour of how port wine is produced. We tasted 3 different port wines and had a wonderful time. We would definitely book this tour operator again.
