Portland City en Vuurtoren Tour

De meest uitgebreide tour van Portland! Spring aan boord van een trolley en ontspan terwijl we je rondleiden. De tour omvat al onze beroemdste bezienswaardigheden op het schiereiland Portland. Tegen het einde van de tour maken we een stop van 20-30 minuten bij Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth.

Deze historische maritieme seintoren, gebouwd in 1807, is de enige bekende overgebleven toren in zijn soort in de Verenigde Staten.
Gelegen aan Congress Street, het is het oudste nog bestaande gebouw op het schiereiland Portland en het ouderlijk huis van de Amerikaanse dichter Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
Gebouwd in 1860, wordt het erkend als een van de mooiste voorbeelden van groot Italiaans bruinsteen in de Verenigde Staten.
De grootste en oudste openbare kunstinstelling in Maine, de collectie bestaat uit meer dan 18.000 kunstwerken van Andy Warhol tot Winslow Homer tot Claude Monet.
In opdracht van George Washington is het de oudste vuurtoren in Maine en is nog steeds operationeel.
De thuisbasis van Fort Allen Park en een schilderachtig, weids uitzicht op Casco Bay

Could not hear most of the tour. Sat in the back. Additional speakers in the back woukd make a big improvement
Very nice short and simple tour of the city. Perfect amount of time at the might house. Nice way to spend a morning.
Great history of Portland. Take this trip the first day to get ideas of what to do. We enjoyed it very much.

The tournament guide gave a very enjoyable and colorful narration of the cities history . Wish we could auve walked up the lighthouse though.
This was one of the best tours that I have been on. Perhaps it was the knowledge of the driver Wendy Lee. She was excellent! She knows so much info on Portland and its history.

This tour was very educational and fun mainly because of Wendy the Trolley Driver and Narrator. You could tell she loved her job! She was so enthusiastic and very funny. This tour gives you a great way to see the city and one lighthouse. I recommend it highly.
