Als uw cruiseschip na 09:00 uur aankomt, begint de tour pas na aankomst van het schip en worden passagiers vrijgemaakt om van boord te gaan en zich aan te bieden aan de Gids.

Op deze tour langs de westkust van het eiland S. Miguel, we nemen je mee naar de meest iconische plek van de Azoren, de vulkanische krater van Sete Cidades en zijn groene en blauwe meren. Voordat we er komen, passeren we Pico do Carvão, waar we kunnen genieten van een prachtig uitzicht op het centrale deel van het eiland en tegelijkertijd de noord- en zuidkust, met zijn bergen van Fogo en Vara op de achtergrond. Terwijl we klimmen, komen we aan bij Vista do Rei, zoals het sinds het bezoek van El-Rey D Carlos I wordt genoemd, waar we de unieke schoonheid van deze slapende vulkaan kunnen waarderen. Naar het binnenland, een korte stop bij een andere lagune, Santiago's, de diepste en meest verborgen, totdat we de brug bereiken die het groen en blauw van deze lagune scheidt. In de parochie, eenvoudig en mooi, tijd om te wandelen naar de kant van de lagune, bezoek de kerk van S Nicolau, of gewoon een kopje koffie met de lokale bevolking.
Na het verlaten van dit paradijs gaan we terug naar Ponta Delgada, op tijd om de ananasproductiekassen te bezoeken, met een unieke smaak in de wereld, en te genieten van een fruitproeverij terwijl we leren over de geschiedenis van de productie. We eindigen onze tour terug naar Ponta Delgada

Great tour and the guide was very knowledgable. Stopped for great photos! I highly recommend if your on a cruise ship to see a snippet of the island on a short stop

Wonderful tour, but we were disappointed that it was advertised as a small group tour in van or mini bus and there were 34 people on the door in a full-size bus

Mario was wonderful. At our first stop, I started feeling very nauseous and asked if he had a barf bag because I was getting sick. From that moment on, he was incredibly kind, attentive, and accommodating. He moved me to the front of the bus so I would be more comfortable and went out of his way to help me for the rest of the trip. He truly saved me from what could have been a horrible experience. I’m very grateful for his kindness and highly recommend this tour.

It was a bus tour of the sete ciudad lakes and a pineapple growing facility with a very knowledgeable young man Mario He was our driver and our guide. While driving he imparted a wealth of knowledge about his home island with most importantly a great sense of humor 🙂

Mario, our tour guide, was outstanding. He was very thorough and interesting in describing the island and the things we were going to see. He told us that he had gotten feedback from previous customers that he talked too much. I assured him that no, it was perfect. Would definitely use them again - especially when there is adequate time after the tour to return to the cruise ship. Much less expensive than the excursion offered by the cruiseline.

When we arrived to the island the it was raining but thankfully the weather cleared up and it was a beautiful day. The terminal where the tour met the cruise ship was a little chaotic but we found our driver Tim. The coach was comfortable and Tim gave us great information the island and the history of the Azores. A couple of great picture stops opportunity to grab a bite to eat and pick up some souvenirs. The pineapple farm was also informative and a great addition to the 1/2 day tour. Tim dropped us at the town square near the cruise terminal where more shopping lunch opportunities were available. Well worth the money
