Pompeii en Herculaneum zijn twee van de meest bijzondere archeologische vindplaatsen van Europa, maar het kan lastig zijn om ze te bereiken. Als u met de hogesnelheidstrein reist, hebben we de stress weggenomen, zodat u uw tijd kunt besteden aan het bezoeken van ongelooflijke locaties en het maken van herinneringen, zonder in een krappe bus te zitten! Pompei was een grote en diverse stad met een gezonde mix van rijke elite, kooplieden, ambachtslieden en slaven van wie je een kristalhelder beeld krijgt van de levens tijdens een 2 uur durende wandeling. Na wat uitrusten en opladen bij een authentieke pizzeria, brengt een korte transfer ons naar onze tweede bestemming. Herculaneum was minder dan half zo groot als Pompeii en was een kleine kuststad die werd gekenmerkt door opmerkelijk bewaard gebleven houten constructies en levendige fresco's. Met een deskundige gids aan je zijde loop je in de voetsporen van de nobele Romeinen die deze verloren stad ooit hun thuis noemden. Aan het einde van uw tour brengt een korte transfer u terug naar het station van Napels, waar uw snelle trein terug naar Rome wacht!

Ontmoet onze vertegenwoordiger op het station Termini in Rome, die u zal helpen bij het instappen in de hogesnelheidstrein. Leun achterover, ontspan en geniet van een snelle en betrouwbare reis die zowel reistijd als uitstoot aanzienlijk vermindert.
Na ongeveer 1 uur en 10 minuten arriveert u op het treinstation van Napels, waar onze vriendelijke gids u zal verwelkomen.
Kom aan in Napels en stap aan boord van een luxe minibus met airconditioning die rechtstreeks naar het archeologische gebied Pompei rijdt.
Wandel met je gids door Pompeii en begrijp alles over de verwoestende uitbarsting van de Vesuvius in 79 na Christus. Door Pompeii weten we zoveel over het Romeinse leven in de oudheid!
We bezoeken een historische pizzeria in Pompeii, bekend om het serveren van enkele van de meest authentieke en overheerlijke pizza's in de stad. En vergeet niet: je bent in de geboorteplaats van de Italiaanse pizza, waar alleen de beste overleven in een fel concurrerende markt!
Stap met hernieuwde energie terug aan boord van onze privébus met airconditioning voor een comfortabele rit terug naar Napels.
Geniet van een 2 uur durende tour door Herculaneum. Minder dan de helft van de grootte van Pompeii, Herculaneum was een kleine kuststad gekenmerkt door opmerkelijk bewaard gebleven houten structuren en levendige fresco's. Treed met een deskundige gids aan je zijde in de voetsporen van de adellijke Romeinen die deze verloren stad ooit hun thuis noemden.

This was the best tour we went on during my 2 week Europe trip. The instructions were easy to follow and the tour guides were easy to find. Everything was taken care of and we just got to sit back and enjoy! Our tour guide was amazing and we learned so much. She showed us as much as possible in the time we had. Lunch was amazing and exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this tour. Pompeii and Herculaneum were the most fascinating places we visited.
Wow!!! This tour is incredible!! We did day trip from Rome to Pompeii & Herculaneum by train. Pompeii was amazing, lunch was delicious and very filling, and Herculaneum is NOT TO BE MISSED…a true gem of preserved ancient history, even more so than Pompeii. Paula was a spectacular guide!!!
I didn’t realize how big Pompeii was, will definitely do again on our trip. Love how Italia Tours made sure we got on the right train in Rome and Naples. Great adventure!
Great tour exploring these amazing sites.
Our tour guide Antonio was a Pompeii legend. He was friendly and shared many interesting facts about all things Pompeii and Herculaneum. The lunch included was also fantastic and a great way to separate the two sites.
This was an amazing day! It was planned very well - train (relatively short and comfortable- easy to navigate with their instructions), nice short car rides - with local professional driver who was a joy - very knowledgeable tour guide (Ida) who let us make the trip our own. My parents are older and slow. Ida found shade for them and led us to the main sites at their pace. The lunch was also very good!! We were back in Rome in time to freshen up and have a later dinner! Long (and hot) day (make sure to bring water and a hat/sunscreen and wear comfortable clothes and shoes), but so worth it!
This tour was the highlight of our three-weeks travel in France & Italy. It was well-organised; logistical instructions were clear; and we were greeted on-time by Italia tours at both Rome Termini & Napoli train stations. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and patient with the many questions asked by our inquisitive group. The ‘pizza lunch’ was top quality food with some choices from the menu available to us. It was a 12-hour day but absolutely worth it!
This tour was so well organized from beginning to end. We had received an email with a photo showing the exact spot we were to meet up with a tour representative at Roma Termini to begin our day. She made sure all participants were accounted for and then escorted us to the appropriate train. We had also received an email with a photo showing the exact spot we were to meet up with our tour guide upon arrival in Naples. There we met Rose who would be our guide for the day. From the train station, we were transported by a dedicated small bus to Pompeii to begin our tour. I was so impressed with Rose's knowledge of the various types of structures we saw and of the events that took place on that fateful day. At the conclusion of our Pompeii tour, we had a wonderful lunch at a restaurant right near the entrance. The menu included our choice of starters, entree, desert, and drink. From there we boarded our bus and headed to Herculaneum. Rose explained to us in detail the differences between the two cities - the sizes of the homes, the infrastructure, and the wealth of the residents of Herculaneum. Throughout, Rose patiently answered our questions and was very mindful of the group's needs with timely rest and bathroom breaks. At the conclusion of our tour, we boarded our bus and headed back to the Naples train station. There we were guided to the appropriate train for our trip back to Rome. It couldn't have been a more perfect day!
Excellent communication and friendly guide. Guide was knowledgeable and lunch was above expectations. Sites were amazing. Lots of walking on uneven surfaces could be challenging for those with difficulty walking. I highly recommend this tour.
This was very through and entertaining. Due to the topography it is definitely not recommended for anyone who has any disabilities. The lunch was much more than just Pizza.
