This was an excellent introduction to Pompeii. Found tour guides accent a little hard to understand but entire thing was pleasant. Recommend you use this tour as an introduction to Pompeii, then stay afterwards and explore by yourself.
Everything prior to arriving in Pompeii was very good. Once there, it got a bit complicated at the entrance to the site. The tour covers the essentials, and the guide, at the end, provides recommendations for continuing to visit independently. As a recommendation for those who continue independently: keep in mind that depending on the exit you take, you may end up relatively close to the Pompeii station; otherwise, it is QUITE far away.
I had booked a tour for Pompeii with transfer included. It was indicated to arrive at 11 AM at the agency to collect the train tickets as well as the entrance tickets for Pompeii, for a train departure scheduled at 11:25 AM. We arrived at 10:50 AM, but we were immediately asked to wait in a room. Time passed, and at 11:10 AM, starting to worry, I politely went to ask for information. I was told that this was not the right person and that I needed to wait for their colleague. The staff constantly passed the responsibility without ever giving a clear answer. After several requests, I was finally told to 'calm down' and that it would no longer be possible to take the originally scheduled train, but another one later. We were then asked to wait again. Finally, the train tickets and the tickets for Pompeii were handed to us at the last moment, before we were once again told to wait to be accompanied to the train. The organization was extremely poor: the schedules were not respected, the tickets were printed at the last minute, and we clearly felt that they were making groups wait in order to fill the departures more. An employee even took my phone before leaving to print the tickets at the last moment. Another problem: the tickets for Pompeii were not even in our names; they had been switched. When we reported it, we were simply told: 'Before, the tickets were not nominative; now they are,' without the slightest apology. As a result, we left late, had to take another train, and lost a considerable amount of time. We had paid for this service precisely to avoid stress and save time, but it ultimately turned out to be the opposite: more stress, more wasted time, and a much worse experience than if we had organized everything ourselves. I absolutely do not recommend this experience, and I will never go through this agency again. The staff was disorganized, unfriendly, and unable to provide clear information to the customers.
We just had an exceptional service from Rita at Central Station office. With no time to spare she ran to office to get all tickets sorted and then ran with us to train to ensure we got on. She also responded immediately to request to change return train journey. Grazie mille....Roddy, Ireland
A bit confusing. The same company messaged me with two separate accounts and I didn’t know if I had double booked or what. I was given the wrong info by one guide on where the meet up was. Once it was all figured out, it was fine and the tour was great, but getting to that point was a bit concerning.
Very friendly and efficient staff who guided us from the main station, onto the right train (35 mins), and quick short shuttle bus to Pompeii. We were all given receivers to hear the guide better. Straight through the entrance, and excellent 2-hour tour guide around the site showing us the main sites, who helped us get back to the right station back to central Naples. We could have stayed longer on our own to see more if we had wanted. A great value introduction to Pompeii. Much better than an audio tour!
Alessia, the escort to Pompeii for today's tour, I would call her good, sweet and beautiful. Well organized tour, bravo!
We couldn't get into Pompeii. We had paid for a tour without queues and with a guide in Spanish, we have been brought by train to Pompeii and when we were already here we are told that there are no tickets to enter! Never book with these people.
Hello, unfortunately this is beyond our control. On May 4th, 2025, the Pompeii Archaeological Park closed due to overcrowding without a notice. We had informed our customers as soon as it happened and offered a full refund. In case you didn't get a refund, please reach out to us. We hope you will try one of our services again in the future. We value all our customers and we always give our best to ensure that all the experiences are unforgettable.
Amazing day out in Pompeii with Francesco, our tour guide. He was very informative, full of fun and looked after our group throughout the visit. Really great insight into life back into 79BC, in the town so incrediblypreserved. Top marks for the whole trip, which included a visit to Vesuvius, organised by the friendly staff in Naples train station
This tour was booked online. When you get to the office, a lot of instructions are given verbally, plus train & bus tickets. The 2 hour walking tour started at 12:30pm, the return train trip was booked for 4:20pm, We weren't given that information until we got to the office, so when the train was late, we had to hurry to get back to our ship in time. So poor planning & lack of communication for the company. We missed our train to Pompeii, maybe because we were given the wrong platform number. We then had to pay more for other train tickets, and the employee who arranged that for us didn't let the staff at Pompeii know, so there was no one there to meet us although she assured us there would be. This we missed the tour, finally managed to find the InStazione place, we're told we'd been given the wrong information by Naples office & told we had to buy more tickets if we wanted to go in. So €36 later, the employee set us up with audio guides on our phones, except that she didn't do it properly on my phone, so I had no commentary. Altogether, this was a massive cluster ***k, and it spoilt our chance to get the best experience for our one day at Pompeii. No communication from the company to provide feedback, I would strongly recommend that tourists should use a different company for a tour. Poor communication, wrong instructions, verbal instructions instead of written, 2 hour wait for a train back ( there were other options available) - a nightmare. Be warned!
We are truly sorry to read about your experience and we apologise that the tour did not run as expected. We understand how frustrating this must have been, especially with limited time available during your visit to Pompeii. Clear instructions, correct meeting details and proper coordination between our offices are essential, and we regret that in this case our service did not meet the standard we aim to provide. Your feedback has been shared with our team so we can review what happened internally and improve our communication, especially regarding written instructions, train details and on-site assistance. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and for the impact this had on your day.
