Pompeii en de Vesuvius zijn de onbetwiste protagonisten van de uitbarsting van 79 na Christus. Kom er meer over te weten met deze ongelooflijke volledige dag ervaring. Je bezoekt Pompeii in een kleine groepstour onder leiding van een Archeoloog-gids die je de beste hoogtepunten van de site laat zien, zoals het Forum - het belangrijkste plein van de stad -, de belangrijkste huizen en gebouwen. Ontmoet dan in de middag de wandelgids en vertrek met onze minibus voor maximaal 14 personen richting de Vesuvius. Als we bij de ingang van de Vesuvius aankomen, is het 30 minuten lopen naar de top. Wandel over de vulkaan en bereik de top: kijk in de nog steeds rustige krater en bewonder het prachtige landschap om je heen en het prachtige panorama met uitzicht op de baai van Napels. Aan het einde van de excursie wordt u terug vervoerd naar Pompeii, waar de tour eindigt.

Transfer naar Mt. Vesuvius. Ga op de top van de vulkaan om de krater te zien die nog steeds licht rookt. Daarnaast heb je een prachtig panorama op de baai van Napels, Capri, Ischia, de rand van de kust van Sorrento en meer. De laatste 500m is een zeer steile wandeling bergop en gesloten schoenen zijn essentieel. Aan het einde van het bezoek, terug naar de hoofdingang van de ruïnes van Pompeii, genaamd Porta Marina Superiore.

Very informative tour of Pompei with Paolo (definitely an expert on the history of the site) and he guided us through a couple of sections of the site with a very dry wit. Have learnt a lot! The climb to the crater of Mt Vesuvius was a real highlight and the views were spectacular. Mario was an excellent guide, and has a love for the geography of the region which he shared. The tour was in two distinct sections and there was plenty of time for a lunch break in between. Bring plenty of water and be prepared for Pompei to be hot!
The tour was excellent - Tonia (Tonya) did an amazing job explaining the ruins, the history, and ancient homes. As for the hike up Mt Vesuvius, yes there was some effort to walk up (the bus takes you around half way up), but Mario made the trip fun and exciting explaining things along the way to give us a few much needed breaks. The views near the top were just unreal!!
While the hike up Mount Vesuvius was cancelled due to lightning, we truly enjoyed plan B, which was the visit of Ercolano. Our guide Mario was wonderful, sharing his knowledge of the history of the eruption. At Pompeii, we followed Ilaria, our expert guide. Having worked on the site herself, she had so much to teach us. We fully enjoyed both visits.
Paestum is beautiful in a group with the very well-prepared Guido.
Very good tours packaged up. Anna did our Pompeii tour in the morning. She is an archeologist so knowledgeable and enthusiastic and very friendly and personable with the group and excellent with knowing best route and queue times for different exhibits. We met up again after a break for lunch to go via bus with Mario. He was also very good and patient for the Vesuvius walk. He had great knowledge on the surrounding area and activities. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Quite ling but covers both tours well and was well organised with excellent guides. Thankyou to Anna and Mario!
The tour was a disaster. I was short changed on the Pompeii tour that was a guided tour that was supposed to last three hours but only lasted 1.5 hours because of screw ups with the tour operator and an unexplained 30 minute delay starting the tour. The Vesuvius tour was even worse. It was supposed to be a guided tour but the guide dropped out. So it was to be a self-guided tour. That was even worse as they want you to use an app that doesn’t work on your phone in a place where there’s no wifi or cell service. And on top of that they gave me an invalid entrance ticket so before I knew something was wrong the driver left us there and I didn’t get to go on the tour at all.
Anna Sorrento was a wonderful guide. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, and pointed out items and sites that were both educational and intriguing. She moved our tour at a good pace - a lot of time to enjoy specific areas but quickly enough to visit a lot of the Pompeii ruins...and she timed it well to avoid large crowds at popular sites. Would highly recommend Anna for people on this tour.
This is a perfect use of your day. Pompeii takes about 2 hours and then Vesuvius is about 2 hrs. Just note its hot! Bring lots of water. Also note Vesuvius is more than a "little" walk but most can do it.
It’s definitely worth it. I’d like to thank to both of our tour guides, Paulo in Pompeii and Mario on the Vesuvius trip. Both trips were very informative, the guys did a brilliant job by not only sharing everything that needed to be known but bringing their energy and creating good vibes during the whole trip. A very beautiful visit to Pompeii accompanied by Teresa. A small group allows for a better enjoyment of the visit and the opportunity to ask our questions to the guide. A beautiful hike on Mount Vesuvius. Mario was a good guide. Some information was a bit redundant with the visit to Pompeii, the guide's information, and that of the seismologist.
