Hoewel Pisa beroemd is om zijn iconische Scheve Toren, ligt op slechts een paar kilometer van het stadscentrum de prachtige kustlijn van Marina di Pisa. Volg het schilderachtige Trammino-fietspad en rijd door een vredig platteland, geurende dennenbossen en beschermde natuurgebieden voordat u de Middellandse Zee bereikt. Bewonder onderweg de monding van de rivier de Arno (Bocca d'Arno), de traditionele retoni visnetten en de charmante jachthaven. Eenmaal aan de kust geniet u van vrije tijd om te zwemmen, verse zeevruchten te proeven, te genieten van authentieke Italiaanse ijsjes of gewoon te ontspannen aan zee voordat u in uw eigen tempo terug naar Pisa fietst. De Basiliek van San Piero a Grado is een prachtige Romaanse kerk die dateert uit de 10e eeuw. Volgens de overlevering werd het gebouwd op de plaats waar Sint Pieter voor het eerst in Italië landde op zijn reis naar Rome, waardoor het een belangrijk bedevaartsoord werd.
De haven van Pisa is een moderne jachthaven gelegen aan de monding van de rivier de Arno. Het is de thuisbasis van zeilboten en jachten en dient als toegangspoort tot de Toscaanse kust, met een prachtig uitzicht op de waterkant en een ontspannen sfeer.

Wonderful experience- bikes were excellent, service was so helpful and friendly setting us up and we had a great day cycling to the coast from Pisa - can’t recommend enough!
Easy process to hire the bikes which were perfect for the trip to the beach. The app gave easy clear instructions for the route which was beautiful. A thoroughly enjoyable day out. Would definitely do again if we came back!

I am so glad we took time in Pisa to ride to the beach. We had an amazingly warm sunny day and once we go to the bike path it was flat and easy there and back. Great view of the countryside and mountains. We locked up the bikes and had lunch overlooking the sea. We had to give a 500euro deposit for the bikes and pay 3euro for a helmet.

The handover was in English, but completely problem-free. Everything was explained very well. One must leave a deposit. This can be done with a card. If everything is in order upon return, there will be no charge. For the route, you need an app that is provided via a QR code. Within a very short time, you find yourself on the bike path, which is completely flat. You really cannot get lost. Unfortunately, it rained on the way, so we drove back quickly. However, we could have also returned after 4 hours without it costing more.

The bikes were in great condition and fully charged. The attendant was super helpful in setting us up. You have to ride through some city streets and some farmland before reaching the coast, but the trail through the farms is beautiful and smooth.

What a fantastic experience! I recently visited Pisa with friends and we decided on a cycling adventure to the sea for one of our activities. An what an epic experience we had!!! From the first web inquiry on a cold wet day in England, to arriving in sun-drenched Pisa, everything was super easy to arrange. We were greeted by the friendly Elena who quickly organised the bikes whilst the security deposit was arranged. The cost of hire is worth every penny, as the bikes are well maintained, and you can have them for the entire day. Quick as a flash we had our bikes, complete with an app to navigate by, and off we went. It takes only a few short minutes to get out of the city (it's not busy) before you are in flat, open countryside on a smooth cycle track, with green fields either side. The seaside was beautiful, the cycling easy and the beer/wine was cold. Would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Pisa!

Friendly and cheerful landlords. We have rented the touring bikes with our family for a day cycling to the sea (good to combine with swimming in the sea). Very good quality of bikes, clear route description and fine bike paths. Definitely recommended!
