Word een piraat voor de dag! We zullen onze weg banen naar Wallilabou Bay - de filmset van de film, The Pirates of the Caribbean. De baai van Wallilabou heette Port Royal in the Movie. Deze tour geeft je ook de kans om enkele van de meest populaire en pittoreske bezienswaardigheden in St. Vincent te bezoeken.

Onze tour begint bij de Kingstown-terminal voor cruiseschepen. We nemen je mee door onze hoofdstad Kingstown. Tijdens het rijden wordt informatie over enkele van de meest historische gebouwen getoond, zoals het Centrale politiebureau, het financiële complex, het Oost-Caribische hooggerechtshof en ook onze cenotaaf.
We zullen door ons drukke marktplein rijden waar veel verkopers en boeren hun lokale producten verkopen.
Als we door onze hoofdstad Kingstown rijden, rijden we in de straat van de kerk of "achterstraat" zoals het lokaal wordt genoemd. Hier wordt u getoond en krijgt u een korte geschiedenis over de Methodistenkerk, evenals de anglicaanse en de rooms-katholieke kerk.
Daarna gaan we verder naar Fort Charlotte. Fort Charlotte is een fort uit het Britse koloniale tijdperk, gebouwd op een heuvel met uitzicht op de haven en een panoramisch uitzicht op de Benedenwoestijnzijde van het eiland, waaronder Kingstown, Young Island, Bequia en ook het beroemde eiland Mustique.
Na onze stop in Fort Charlotte zullen we ons aansluiten bij de Leeward high, die is omgedoopt tot de Nelson Mandela Highway. U passeert het Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, het Victoria Park - een klein stadion dat tijdens het Carnaval ook wel Carnival City wordt genoemd, de Botanische Tuinen, de oudste tuin van zijn soort op het westelijk halfrond. industriegebied Campden park en vervolgens door naar de pittoreske baai van Buccament. We maken hier een korte stop voor foto's.
Een korte afstand ten noorden van de baai van Buccie ligt de vestiging van Layou. Layou was een van de eerste gebieden van nederzettingen door de Fransen, die de eerste Europeanen waren die zich in het begin van de achttiende eeuw in St. Vincent en de Grenadines vestigden. Al eerder gebruikten de Cariben het als een van hun nederzettingen, zoals blijkt uit de rotstekeningen die in het gebied te vinden zijn. We zullen hier in Layou een stop maken voor foto's
Onze volgende stop is het vissersdorpje Barrouallie. Barrouallie werd opgericht door Franse kolonisten in 1719, de eerste Europese kolonie op St. Vincent. Het was ooit de hoofdstad van St. Vincent en de Grenadines. Met de rest van het eiland ging het heen en weer tussen de Fransen en de Britten, en bleef uiteindelijk in handen van de laatste. Binnen Saint Patrick Parish is Barrouallie zowel de grootste stad als de parochiekapitaal. Het gebied staat bekend om te vissen en is beroemd om "Blackfish". Vanwege de omliggende bergen is de stad gevormd in een gat dat in de loop van de tijd de stad heeft beschermd tegen vulkaanuitbarstingen.
Onze volgende stop is de Wallilabou Bay, waar de openingsscènes van de eerste film van The Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of The Black Pearl werden gefilmd. Het is een van de meest bezochte site voor cruisepassagiers.
Op een steenworp afstand ligt het Wallilabou Heritage Park dat onze volgende stop zal zijn. Het is een kleine waterval. Grote Samaan-bomen bedekken het zwembad en de aangrenzende gebieden, waardoor een relatief koel microklimaat ontstaat voor het kerngebied van het park. Deze en andere planten vormen een habitat voor verschillende soorten vogels.
Na een leuke tijd bij de Dark View Falls maken we onze reis terug naar Buccament Beach, waar je 1 uur hebt om te zwemmen of snorkelen.

Ophaallocaties en -tijden
Voor cruiseschippassagiers is ons startpunt bij de Kingstown Cruise Ship Terminal. We zullen in de haven zijn kort nadat u de immigratie heeft afgerond. Zodra u het terminalgebouw verlaat, loopt u rechtdoor richting gate 3. Iemand van ons team zal een bord met ons bedrijfslogo ophangen. Als u geen cruiseschippassagier bent, geef dan de naam en het adres van uw hotel op of neem contact met ons op om het ophalen te bespreken.

Highly recommend tour company offering a great range of trips. Good value for money. Always punctual and responsive to questions. Shaf, in particular, is fabulous. A beautiful Vincentian, inside & out 🥰
Our pirates of the Caribbean excursion was truly unforgettable.. Our guide "Chef" was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience even more enjoyable. Everything was well-paced, giving my family time to relax and take it all in. I highly recommend this excursion—it’s a perfect way to experience the beauty of the island.
Great tour at a very low price compared to others. It s basically gone around the island. The tour lasted 7 hours instead of 5.. a bit long without lunch, because the stops were 45 Min/1 hour instead of 15/30. Made a lot of bus (small max 22 people) on narrow roads and with many curves, up and down the hills but you saw a lot. Very good and nice driver and guide. Only in: left with 1 hour late and the stop at the beach terribe, to avoid: you have to bring towels, black sand no one has bathed and nothing much... it was preferable to return by ship...
Made a reservation 10 months ago. On the morning of the tour you will not find our reservation, taken hostage at the exit of the port not to go anyway with another operator. Taken away in the car, changed trucks three times. Since we could not go back because we were far from the port, we found ourselves on a tour that had already started halfway, completely different from the one booked. And finally paid full price, maybe even more than those who were on top of the bus. If you arrive by cruise ship stay in the ship, a stop to forget like the tour.
The tour as such was good, partly because you got to see something from the coast. The location itself doesn't show much of the location anymore, is quite touristy, costs additional admission, rather moderate. Afterwards we were still in a small pretty park (extra entrance), and then to swim on the beach. Fort Charlotte was interesting. Driver and guide were nice. Unfortunately, we, who were there at the beginning of the time window at the start of the tour, had to wait a long time for the start of the tour, probably also because the start time was described a bit fuzzy, and the last 5 guests only appeared at the end of the time window.
Learnt a lot about St Vincent and The Grenadines, it's sustainability, the fruits and vegetation on the island, it's people. We love St Vincent and the Grenadines and our guide assisted us in falling deeper in love with it. To you it off we visited Wallilabou Landing, where some parts of Pirates on the Carribean, The Black Pearl, were filmed. Truly beautiful island.
What an amazing tour. Wayne was polite and friendly on WhatsApp, making sure I had all the details I needed to join the tour. Deano was our driver and he was fantastic, as I was sat in the front I couldn’t always hear our guide, so he kept me informed. I didn’t catch our guides name, but she said “You can call me Sexy Lexi”. She too was amazing and so informative. My mum also loved it too. Definitely one to do if you’re a fan of Pirates of the Caribbean, and Topdawg Tours certainly make sure you have the best time.
This tour with Top Dawg was a great introduction to St Vincent and The Grenadines. Communication prior to the tour was also professional and detailed, which I really appreciated as a solo traveller. My guide Weena was so enthusiastic about showing us her country, and our driver Dino provided us with safe and comfortable transportation. The Pirates of the Caribbean site is worth visiting if you’re an enthusiast, but just bear in mind it’s not been maintained overly well since the movie was produced. It was still worth seeing, but just set your expectations. Overall, I would recommend this tour with Top Dawg for those with limited time on the island and for Pirates of the Caribbean enthusiasts.
"Topdawg" was an excellent driver. The roads are steep and winding, but we always felt safe. He even had time to dish out advice about horn use. The fort visit was educational. Not a lot to see at the Pirates site ($2 charge), but fun to play in the coffins. The waterfall stop was our highlight. We also stopped at a beach and learnt about whale catching!
