START LAAT OM MENSEN TE VOORKOMEN! Het James Bond-eiland is misschien wel een van de beroemdste bezienswaardigheden in Zuid-Thailand. Sinds Roger Moore begin jaren zeventig op het eiland filmde, stroomden toeristen toe om indrukwekkende rotsformaties uit de eerste hand te aanschouwen en om enkele van hun favoriete scènes opnieuw te beleven tussen de prachtige achtergrond van de baai van Phang Nga. - Vertrek vanuit uw hotel in een comfortabele minibus en maak een mooie rit naar de Phang Nga-vallei. - Bezoek een van de beroemdste grottempels in Phang Nga. - Verlaat de stad Phang Nga met een traditionele longtailboot en vaar door een van de grootste inheemse mangrovebossen in Thailand. - Vaar door de grotten en prachtige kalkstenen bergen die deel uitmaken van de baai van Phang Nga. - Stop voor een wandeling en een duik op het beroemde James Bond-eiland. - Maak een wandeling door het hooggelegen vissersdorpje en geniet van een heerlijk diner met uitzicht op de baai. - Vaar terug naar de pier terwijl de zon ondergaat over de baai en keer terug naar uw hotel.

Deze oude grottempel is de thuisbasis van een gigantische gouden liggende Boeddha. We stoppen hier even om rond te kijken voordat we naar de pier gaan. De grot en het tempelterrein zijn ook de thuisbasis van verschillende wilde apen.

Het dorp Panyi is een islamitisch vissersdorpje op palen in het midden van de baai. Oorspronkelijk drijvend, wordt dit dorp bewoond door de overledenen van nomadische reizigers die zich vele jaren geleden in de baai vestigden. Na een snelle blik in het dorp, is dit de perfecte plek om te stoppen voor het diner.

Really enjoyed this cruise. The dinner at the end helped to pull the whole cruise together. I though we was going to see The luminous water and the sunset on the water but we didn't
I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your cruise in Phang Nga Bay and the dinner in the stilted village. Unfortunately, the promise of bioluminescent plankton is one of those things that has been a bit exaggerated by social media content creators with camera filters. Yes, it does exist and yes, we do see it. Unfortunately however, it is impossible to predict where and when we will see it as it comes and goes with the tides. Still, maybe next time!
Throughout our holiday we booked 3 excursions with Discovery and each one exceeded our expectations and was carefully planned to avoid crowds. This was our final trip and our guide Man was so friendly and engaging with our children (9&11). James Bond Island was as beautiful as we expected, but for us the highlight was the boat tour through the mangroves and caves, our children were able to sit on the front of the boat and had the best time. We also saw a spectacular Sea Eagle several times which was an unexpected bonus. The meal we were served at the fishing village was the best meal we had had our entire trip, beautifully cooked and enjoyed with the most spectacular view. We also enjoyed watching a huge monitor lizard make his way along the beach whilst we ate. A great final trip, I would recommend!

We had such a great time visiting the temple, observing the monkeys and especially cruising through the waters and jungles and caves around famed James Bond Island. Ching, our guide, was magnificent educating us about the area, the culture and the locals. Our driver Rak and captain Goong were professional and so kind. To see this part of the world for the first time was amazing — especially so with our new friends explaining everything and putting it in perspective!

Fantastic from start to finish. We felt very looked after by the guide and the driver. Nothing was too much trouble, water, cold towels, waterproof and happy to take photos of us without asking.

We would recommend this to anyone, despite the long drive there and the short stops on the spot. We had a nice little group, and our guide, ChingChing, was a cutie. She kept supplying us with water and Coke. In addition, she told about everything we drove past and answered all our questions. The boat trip to James Bond Island was more fun than the island itself; the souvenir saleswomen are very pushy and sometimes even aggressive. Bit of a shame. The food on Koh Paniyee was really delicious! Nice to see that a self-sufficient community has been created on this piece of sea. Tired but satisfied and full of impressions we went hotelward. It was a great day
It sounds as if you had an amazing trip to James Bond Island with Ching. She really is a fantastic guide. She grew up in the local area so has lots of facinating local knowledge. As you say, it is ashame that the souvenir shops can sometimes be a bit over the top. But we do what we can to avoid them. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the food also. Great day out. We chose the later start to avoid the busier morning at JB Island and to take in a sunset. Unfortunately a late tropical downpour put paid to any sunset but it made the boat journey back to the pier great fun. 😁 The journey out through the mangrove forest and the bay gave plenty of stunning photo opportunities, JB Island itself was actually underwhelming and a little busy but is actually only a small part of the trip. Aoom was our guide and she did a great job, she was well prepared with cold water for us and even had rain ponchos for the boat journey. The dinner was amazing, a full on banquet, fish, chicken, prawns, Tom yum soup, omelette.

Had an amazing full day. Starting later we missed the crowds. Both Pon ( Bon) the tour guide and the long boat driver went above and beyond, looking out for monkeys on the islands as we passed & highlighting different land marks and birds. James Bond Island was beautiful. The floating fishing village with its own floating football pitch was on my husbands list to see, and did not disappoint. The temple was amazing and we felt privileged to be blessed by a monk at the temple.

This was a fantastic tour to James Bond island, Panyee fishing village and the reclining Buddha cave. Kiwi, our guide, and Montree the driver were excellent throughout. Kiwi was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, she made the day even more enjoyable. We left the hotel early to avoid crowds and that was a great idea. Lunch at the fishing village was plentiful and tasty, we loved it. All in all it was a great day, we thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend Kiwi and Montree from Discovery Travel.
