Als je in Parijs bent, kijk dan niet alleen naar de schilderijen van Claude Monet in een museum - ga wandelen in de landschappen die hen inspireerden. In minder dan 1,5 uur verruil je de stadsstraten voor Giverny, een sprookjesdorp waar Claude Monet meer dan 40 jaar woonde en schilderde. Reis in een comfortabele minibus met airconditioning en een kleine groep en een meertalige chauffeur- Gids die onderweg verhalen vertelt over Monet, het impressionisme en de regio. Met uw inbegrepen ticket stapt u rechtstreeks het landgoed van Monet binnen: verken zijn huis met roze muren, zijn atelier en kamers vol Japanse prenten en wandel vervolgens door de bloementuin Clos Normand, een rel van kleuren van de lente tot de herfst. Ontmoet uw chauffeur- Gids in ons centraal gelegen Parijse agentschap, op slechts een korte wandeling van het Louvre. Stap in uw minibus met airconditioning en verlaat de stad via de snelweg van Normandië richting de Seinevallei.
Gebruik bij aankomst uw vooraf geboekte ticket om het landgoed van Monet te betreden. Ontdek het roze huis van de schilder gerestaureerd zoals het was in zijn tijd: de blauwe woonkamer, de bijkeuken en keuken, de eetkamer gevuld met Japanse prenten en zijn eigen slaapkamer op de eerste verdieping. Het huis waar Claude Monet meer dan 40 jaar woonde en 8 kinderen opvoedde.
Wandel buiten door de Clos Normand, een rel van kleuren met meer dan 100 verschillende soorten bloemen – rozen, nasturtiums en seizoensbloeiers uit Europa en Azië die Claude Monet als een levend canvas schikte.
Steek de weg over naar de beroemde watertuin, waar je de groene Japanse brug, wisteria, bamboe en de waterlelievijver vindt die Monets Nymphéas-serie inspireerde. Neem de tijd voor foto’s en om de exacte motieven te herkennen die je in zijn schilderijen hebt gezien.
Sluit je weer aan bij je chauffeur- Gids en ontspan op de rit terug naar het centrum van Parijs, waar je aankomt met je camera vol beelden die lijken op impressionistische schilderijen.

Sebastián was an excellent tour operator. He shared a bit of Claude Monet’s story on the way, and gave us a good tip on arrival (to visit Monet’s house first and then the gardens — this was a pro tip!). The drive each way was about 1.5-2hrs and we spent 2hrs at the site, which felt like enough (would it be nice to sit and relax and stare at the pond, sure, but with so many visitors, it was ok to move through at a leisurely pace). It was also nice heading to Le Capucines for a homemade lemonade and olive fougasse afterwards.
Wonderful day at Giverny and Versailles. Frederic was an amazing guide and made sure we arrived at Giverny first thing and allowed a leisurely visit to the house and gardens followed by a delicious lunch nearby. The afternoon was spent at Versailles in all its splendor. Just a perfect touring day. Don’t miss this one. .

It was great, we have seen the sunflowers field on the way to the monet’s house and requested to drop off for a while and the tutor was happly doing that for us :)

Giverny, Monet's House and Gardens are all beautiful and worth seeing. I'm posting this review only to inform prospective customers to be careful if the actual trip provider is France Tourisme, based on our experience. We took a van to Giverny and saw the house and gardens, but about half way back to Paris, the driver pulled the van to the side of the road and said their was a problem. It was a highway with a narrow shoulder and tractor-trailers whizzing by shaking the van. The driver said to stay in the van but it was not safe so we got out of the van. We climbed over a concrete barrier to get off of the highway. We were there for about 45 minutes. A tow truck came and towed us to its garage. It turned out that the van had run out of gas! I heard the driver say that his colleague who had the van the previous afternoon was supposed to fill it up. That sounded like the driver didn't check the gas level before we left. France Tourisme later said the fuel gauge wasn't accurate but I don't believe that based on what the driver said. All in all we were an hour and a quarter delayed. We asked for a partial refund. The person at the France Tourisme desk said they would give a 25% refund. Then we got an email from France Tourisme saying they wouldn't give a refund because we got to the house and gardens, but they would offer a free boat cruise on the Seine. We had already been on a boat cruise and were leaving Paris the next day so their offer was worthless to us. All of the passengers felt that some refund was in order. In any event, be careful if France Tourisme is the tour operator and I would suggest you ask the van driver if there is fuel.

Once it was determined that the vehicle could not safely proceed, assistance was arranged, and although this resulted in a short delay, the group returned to our agency only a little later than originally scheduled. We understand that this unexpected interruption affected your overall experience, and we regret that our proposed commercial gesture did not meet your expectations. While the excursion was completed in full, including the visit to Giverny, we appreciate your feedback and take it seriously as it helps us continue improving our service. Our “driver guide” did absolutely no guiding and was an extremely erratic and dangerous driver, who far exceeded the speed limit and tailgated continuously. Giverny itself is magical and well worth a visit, but not with this tour.

It was a lovely afternoon in Claude Monet's garden. Despite many visitors, it was pleasant to stroll around the garden. The visitors were spread out there. Our guide, Roland from France Tours, safely and entertainingly drove our small group and accompanied us through the garden. A special thank you to him!

Giverny is beautiful; the gardens are very lovely to contemplate. Our guide Florian was extremely kind at all times and provided us with very good information about the nearby towns and the history of Monet. Highly recommended.
