De mythe van hoe Rome ontstond is onlosmakelijk verbonden met dit unieke gebouw. Van de heilige Tempel en de velden van Mars, oorspronkelijk buiten de stadsmuren van Rome, tot de stichter van Romulus. Het latere Augustijnse bouwwerk staat er vandaag de dag nog steeds in perfecte staat, tweeduizend jaar later, dankzij de Kerk die het is geworden - binnen de wereld van Basilieken komen heidens en christelijk samen. De graven van de koning en koningin en de formidabele as van Rafaelo liggen hier voor eeuwig.
De buitenkant van het Pantheon, de zuilen, de cirkelvormige tempelformatie, de lagen van de geschiedenis uitgelegd (het monument laat ons het verleden zien en helpt ons zo te visualiseren wat er in de toekomst gaat komen). De koepel met zijn verrassende en unieke oculus (open naar de hemel) - de plek waar Romulus door de bliksem werd getroffen (zo wordt gezegd).

Great tour of Pantheon! You do still line up to get entrance, but line moves fast and you go in as a group with your guide so a bit easier than just on your own. Tour guide gave a great tour with good explanations of everything inside. Gave us option of staying longer once tour was done.
Even though it was the first Sunday of the month so free entry, this guided tour was streamline not chaos with the increased number of people

Our private tour allowed us to receive much more information about the Pantheon and the smaller group was better for moving around in the crowds. It was our first day in Rome and our guide also gave us some great tips for Rome. The only issue was that our audio head-sets tended to 'drop in and out' quite a bit, which was a bit frustrating. Thank you to our guide who was let down a bit by the technology.
