Deze PRACHTIGE tour biedt u de gelegenheid om meer te weten te komen over de Medici-dynastie. Palazzo Vecchio was eeuwenlang de thuisbasis van macht, overheid en kunst in Florence en woonde hier de familie van de Medici. We beginnen in de Cortile di Michelozzo, de binnenplaats versierd met stucwerk en fresco's, en vervolgt op de eerste verdieping met de Salone dei Cinquecento, waar een majestueuze cyclus van foto's de apotheose van Cosimo de 'Medici en de stad Florence viert en een rijke reeks standbeelden vergezellen de gevierde overwinning van Michelangelo. Op de tweede verdieping van het museum zijn de privékamers van het Medici-hof, de Sala dell’Udienza en de Sala dei Gigli, waar ook het origineel van Judith van Donatello wordt gevonden. In de Sala delle Carte Geografiche een uitzonderlijk grote wereldbol De mezzaninevloer herbergt een opmerkelijke verzameling schilderijen en sculpturen uit de Middeleeuwen en Renaissance

Verken het stadhuis van Florence tijdens een 2-uur durende tour door het Palazzo Vecchio Museum. The second I laid eyes on Fabrizio, I knew we were going to have a wonderful experience. He was as knowledgeable and credible as I knew he would be. All his stories, which I am sure he has told many times before, sounded like he had just thought of them in the moment. Silvia, our private guide was very attentive and knowledgeable about the Medici family. Throughout the rooms we experienced the magnificent artistries of the times. Sad to say there was one room we were unable to gain access to for whatever the reason. Only 5 participants were allowed in the room, but time was hampered by the continued closure. Silvia and our party was disappointed that the experience we paid for was unable to gain access.

Our tour guide was lovely and worked hard to show us everything. She was very knowledgeable and had many pictures to aid in showing the details of the ceiling art. I was very impressed with the Palazzo Vecchio. I think it's overshadowed by all of the other incredible places in Florence but it was a smaller, more bite-sized visit which made it easier to digest. There was a mix-up on the meeting spot although it was not the tour guide's fault. The tour meeting info from TripAdvisor just had 'Piazza della Signoria' as the meeting spot which is a huge area with dozens of other tours happening concurrently...so we ended up starting late even though all of us were there early because we couldn't find each other.
