Archeologisch complex van Pachacamac en Barranco
Beschrijving
Begin de tour in Barranco, de meest Boheemse buitenwijk van Lima. We zullen het Central Park van Barranco, de gemeentelijke bibliotheek, de traditionele Brug der Zuchten, de koloniale huizen en de beroemde boulevard zien. Vervolgens rijden we via de South Pacific Coast Highway naar Pachacamac, het belangrijkste ceremoniële centrum in de Peruaanse kust tijdens pre-inca- en inca-tijden. Door de eeuwen heen werd Pachacamac bezet door veel verschillende Andes-beschavingen zoals de Lima's, de Wari's, de Ichma's en uiteindelijk door het Inca-rijk. Het Pachacamac Oracle is echter altijd een religieus centrum gebleven. We zullen verschillende piramidale tempels en omhuizingen uit verschillende tijdsperioden zien: de Adobitos & Oude Tempel (I CAD), de geschilderde Tempel (VIII CAD), een piramide met een helling (XIII CAD) & de Tempel van de Zon (XV CAD) . Naast de ruïnes bezoeken we ook een on-site museum met aardewerk, textiel, schelp en stenen ornamenten, evenals het houten Pachacamac-idool gevonden tijdens opgravingen (1938)

Diverse experience with a walking tour of Barranco area of Lima which gave us an insight into the diversity and artistic cultural aspects of this beautiful area. The trip out to Pachacamac was also fascinating and quite awe inspiring to understand how the site has been excavated and to gain knowledge of how these early races lived, created the temple and other areas of the and how they worshipped their gods. Our guide and driver were both knowledgeable and respectful of the location.

The best tour we've had in Lima, Excellent guide with brilliant English and very informatitive in local knowledge and history, well rounded tour seeing the highlights of the area.
