Echte Garifuna-cultuur leeft op het vasteland en in het zuiden van Cayes, dus echte Primero-, Segunda-trommels en handgemaakte Dangriga-maracas bereiken Ambergris Caye bijna nooit — waardoor dit de zeldzaamste culturele ervaring op het eiland is. Stel onder de grootste Heilige Ceiba boom op Ambergris Caye (heilig voor zowel Maya en Garifuna), in onze overwater palapa bij zonsondergang, speel je de werkelijke voorouderlijke instrumenten, terwijl de Caribische wind draagt elke beat. We had the BEST TIME doing this class. It was amazing-the instructor was awesome and we even hung out after to enjoy the food and vibes. I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting San Pedro-it gets you out of the hustle and bustle and it’s a great time. Culture, music, good food and great people-what else could you ask for?

Our family of 6 adults and 4 kids (14,12,7,5) wanted a unique cultural experience. The venue is very unique out on Lina Point- it added to the experience. We loved learning about the culture and history of the Garifuna people. The instructor was so patient and kind and you could tell his passion for drumming and his people through his enthusiastic presentation. We had a wonderful time!
Beautiful authentic experience
Rahim was an informative instructor. He explained the history of the Garifuna people, the importance of spirituality and drumming, and he was a fun teacher! We thoroughly enjoyed his patience with us and how he made it interactive and collaborative! ! I’d highly recommend it as we also liked that it was an intimate class of 5!
I learned so much about the Garafuna people. Raheem was patient with us and enriched us through history and drum. 10/10 I recommend this tour. Next time I will stay for the sunset drum experience.
