Stap binnen in een van de opvallendste gebouwen van Old Montreal, een voormalig café dat door een grand bank werd omgetoverd, voor een klassieke bagel met gerookte zalm die je Secret Food Tours-ervaring in stijl begint. Wandel van daaruit door de geplaveide straatjes naar een lokale épicerie voor een Québec kaas- en vleesplank vol regionale smaak (op bepaalde dagen wordt dit ingeruild voor iets zoets). Dan komt onze geheime stop: een plek waar de lokale bevolking dol op is en de meeste toeristen nooit vinden. Verscholen in een historische straat serveert deze Griekse taverna authentieke mediterrane gerechten: denk aan verse salades, huisgemaakte dips en gegrilde specialiteiten. Wat je precies proeft blijft een verrassing tot je er bent. Geen reis door Montreal is compleet zonder poutine, dus houden we het klassiek : knapperige frietjes, piepende kaaskwark en rijke jus. Het beste comfort food van de provincie! We eindigen met twee stops naast elkaar : echte Québec-esdoornsiroop rechtstreeks uit het bos, gevolgd door een bolletje ahornsiroopijs.

The tour guide, Chantal, did a wonderful job making us feel welcomed. She also kept the tour interesting with her knowledge of the local area and it's history. On top of that, the food was very tasty. It was slightly different than is specified in the description, but we are glad that it was. Our favorite foods were the carrot cake and the Greek lamb dish. Thanks again, Chantal, for the great tour.

Nathalie did an excellent job on this tour. We got the taste of Montreal we were looking for. A great selection of restaurants or venders. We enjoyed the afternoon. We went back to the venders for a shop, venders we likely would have missed without this tour.

This was a very nice food and history tour. Nathalie was enthusiastic and knowledgable. There were five additional guests above the maximum of 16, due to a scheduling mistake of some sort. Nathalie handled that well, but it slowed things down a bit and made the smaller-sized stops very cramped. Overall we had a great time.

Not only was each food stop amazing, our guide showed us around old Montreal and told us all about the history of the city. It was an immersive tour with many incredible bites. She also gave great recommendations about where to go for the rest of our stay in Montreal, both for food and sites.

Our guide Darren was extremely knowledgeable and we loved hearing all about the history of Montreal. The food tasting choices were excellent, the lamb and the salmon bagel being standouts for me. It was a great first day in the city activity for the whole family!

Our tour guide, Chantal, was a little ball of fire, great personality! My work colleague and I only had one free day in the city before our meeting started and this was the perfect tour. We got to see the city and try some great food. BONUS: The actor, John Malkovich, was in the market where we had our first "taste" and I can assure you I will spin this to all my firends as I had bagels with John.
